Ike Turner Dies Aged 76

Rock N' Roll pioneer Ike Turner has been confirmed dead aged 76. His management company confirmed that the singer died at his Los Angeles home early Wednesday morning.

A spokesperson for his former wife and singing partner Tina Turner released a short statement earlier today, stating: "Tina is aware that Ike passed away earlier today. She has not had any contact with him in 35 years. No further comment will be made." Ms. Turner maintains that her husband had been violently abusive to her throughout their relationship.

I passed up an Ike Turner show about a year ago (it was cheap and in a really dirty venue) and I guess I shouldn't have.
