Denmark's MERCENARY have wrapped up recording and mixing their new album,
"The Hours That Remain", with producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, COMMUNIC,
MAROON, HATESPHERE), who had previously worked with the group on their "11 Dreams" offering.
Commented the group: "We made what we feel is the most powerful album in the band's history. Both the writing and the recording processes have really made us a stronger band as we faced quite a few challenges along the way. We can't wait for people to check out the new stuff, and look forward to playing it all live."
Packaged with beautiful artwork by Travis Smith (DEATH, NEVERMORE, OPETH, etc.), "The Hours That Remain" will feature the following track listing (in no particular order):
01. Redefine Me
02. Year Of The Plague
03. My World Is Ending
04. This Eternal Instant
05. Lost Reality
06. Soul Decision
07. Simplicity Demand
08. Obscure Indiscretion
09. My Secret Window
10. The Hours That Remain
"The Hours That Remain" is scheduled for release on August 21 via Century Media Records.
In other news, MERCENARY have announced the addition of bass player René Pedersen to the group's ranks.
Quoted by the band: " We are more than confident that René will be able to fit the bill perfectly both as a person and as a musician. We have been rehearsing with him through the last month and he is really kicking ass!"
René performed with Mercenary for the first time this weekend at the Sägfestival in Greding Germany. This show also marked the first live performance of one of the new Mercenary songs from the forth coming album "The Hours That Remain".

Seeing youve said this band sounds like At the Gates, Children of Bodom and Still Remains these guys sound pretty decent, but I havent heard of them before
| | | Lstening to 11 Dreams. they werent as heavy as I expected them to be, but I still sound pretty cool, kinda remind me a bit of Katatonia
| | | actually, 11 dreams is not like them at all, thats a step out of what their normally like, I'll put one of their heavy songs up
| | | Decent, listening to Seize the Night makes me realise what you were talking about, nice mix of growls and powerful clean vox and lovely thick atmosphere.
| | | Ooops, damn double posting!
I think I might check this band out some point. This Message Edited On 05.30.06
