Demonoid Shuts Down

2007-11-09 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 16 Comments
Following the apparent closure yesterday of Albumbase.com, Serbian-operated BitTorrent tracking site Demonoid has been taken offline. The website currently displays the following message: "The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding."

Tv-links, All of TV, Albumbase, Oink and now Demonoid. Depressing, but it won't change anything.

It's a bit ironic how they shut down the site that gives the links (albumbase) but they don't shut down the sites actually hosting the files (megaupload, rapidshare, etc.)

@iarescientists:

they won't shut down those sites because it's not their fault that the users upload music. many use those sites for legal things also, so it's just an thing they see as an unfortunately unstoppable tool.

but, sites like demonoid which are dedicated to pirating music are different.

oh no

A lot of isohunts torrents were mainly run off of demonoid

same can be said for half of all torrent sites
