I maintain what I said in the album thread, feels like they're just gunning for typical modern metalcore-isms in an attempt to stay relevant (the same way they tried to jump on the BMTH train with Gravity) and it just isn't that great honestly.

We used to get openers like Intro/Her Voice Resides, V/No Way Out and Parasite... There's no bite nor tension building here.

Comparisons to Architects have been made but I think this has the most in common with that Pendulum track Matt guested on. He's an expert in the field of slick mainstream metal when he wants to but now he's just being lazy and lays the other guys' potential to waste.

The thing about Temper Temper and Gravity is that Matt fucked up everything he could about the former and went knockoff route on the latter and both still contained some great material (Dirty Little Secret and Don't Need You first and foremost). I don't have high hopes for the new one, especially coming off the heels of their best album in over a decade.

I don't mind it, I'm wondering if it's gonna be a bit more varied considering the guests involved. Could make it an interesting listen, at worst disjointed.

I'm not in the UK, but mainstream USA metal couldn't be more embarrassing industry plant drivel sold to minors.

Realistically song is no worse than most of their output. Hand of Blood and the Poison were classics, but other than that its mostly been up and down with some decent hooks amidst drivel. Last album had a more respectable sound, but zero hooks. This one is more hooky, less respectable, but its bad is overrated lol. Its way better and way less disgusting than Architects. Architects is the very worst.

Band peaked at the first EP. The Poison is overrated radiocore. That said, I'm sure this is prob better than any Architects release
