so annoying lol.
This is not Anberlin.
This is more poop pop with guitars.
Change the name and stop making money off the brand affiliated with your old brand.
Yet more box office bullshit sequels for a younger audience to see once and never take home on dvd. 2026 bab. We want that ole' thing back.

they were kinda bad live, and played a REALLY small venue considering where they used to be.

'take down this message' brother this is a 100 year old forum running on three hamsters hosting a 10 year old version of mySQL, where do you think you are

"The overall theme of Currency is what happens after everything you built your identity on falls apart. It's a journey through heartbreak, loss, addiction, shame, and the lies we tell ourselves"
Such as convincing yourself you're in Anberlin.

Singles were extremely generic/cliche pop-punk/post-hardcore, but they were alright ig. Sounds like anemic Saosin.
|
| |
what in the schizoposting fuck is the first comment on about?
|
| |
Idk. They've had a remarkably stable lineup over their career; I'm not sure why replacing a retired lead singer while keeping everyone else would be enough to make this "not Anberlin".
|
| |
have you tried listening to it to answer that question?
|
| |
I didn’t think it could be that bad.
God damn I was I wrong.

Alter Bridge is literally Creed minus Scott Stapp and they are (were) leagues ahead of anything Creed released (and I grew up listening to nothing but Creed). In Anberlin's case, they replaced a killer vocalist and lyricist with someone who didn't have a hand in cultivating the band's identity to begin with and whose own talents fail to eclipse the man who came before.

I thought Mullins was just doing the vocals on tour? This is gonna be most likely UBER DUMB
|
| |
Listening to the new song now and, besides from it sounding like some generic A Day to Remember ballad, you can close your eyes and pick out the moments in the song where Stephen's vocals would have SOARED. Mullins clearly has a very limited range and just repeats the same pop-punk vocalizations that bored me to death on Vega. This isn't Anberlin by any stretch.
|
| |
I will hold off on listening to any of the songs until the album is out. Will just put it to my ipod for free. Ain't paying for this. Whoever thought this singer would be a good fit here was mistaken.
|
| |
mullins was doing just tour vocals before, but anberlin have since fully split with christian
|
| |
Generic but cool so I'll give it a pass. My concern isn't that "this is not Anberlin" because, well, this is, it's rather the fact that Matty has zero capability to perform the old material. Range aside, his sheer voice doesn't fit Stephen's lines.
|
| |
@Essence
Wow. Well them saying he was just doing touring vocals was pointless since Stephen never even ended up making more music with them. Released 2 worship albums though that were "meh"
|
| |
nope
|
| |
Oh, so now there’s no Stephen at all? Yeah fuck this
|
| |
Hahaha I am feeling the same way banana

they should have kept recording with Stephen and let Matty play the songs live. hoping in a few years Stephen will want to return to the band full time.
