Dee Snider Apologizes to Kelly Osbourne 2026-08-19 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 12 Comments | Dee Snider has apologized to Kelly Osbourne after comments concerning her late father's songwriting contributions prompted a heated response from Ozzy's daughter.
The dispute began when the Twisted Sister vocalist discussed the work of musicians who wrote lyrics with Ozzy. Snider argued that bassist Bob Daisley was responsible for the lyrics on Ozzy's first two solo albums, while Geezer Butler had fulfilled that role in Black Sabbath and Lemmy contributed to several songs on 1991's No More Tears.
Kelly accused Snider of attempting to diminish her father's achievements when he was no longer able to answer the allegations himself. She maintained that Ozzy's accomplishments as a singer, songwriter, musician and bandleader—and his enduring influence upon heavy metal—speak for themselves.
Snider initially clarified that he held nothing but affection for Ozzy and that Black Sabbath had changed his life, explaining that his own experience as a songwriter had made him particularly sensitive about credits and royalties.
He subsequently addressed Kelly directly:
I'm sorry what I said hurt you. It was never my intent. My sympathies on the loss of your dad.
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76.

i think the Dee in Dee Snyder stands for Dick
| | | Not a Twisted Sister fan at all but Dee Snyder has proved time and time again that he is not a dick and in fact a very wholesome dude. Pretty sure that this was all a big misunderstanding. That’s all I have to say
| | | Dee was the brokencyde of his time,
| | | Woah-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh
We're right (Yeah)
We're free (Yeah)
We'll fight (Yeah)
You'll see, woah-woah (Yeah)
| | | What he said isn’t entirely untrue though. Ozzy didn’t write a lot of the lyrics for his solo stuff. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, and it doesn’t take away from the fact he was a phenomenal vocalist.
Dee is one of the few of his time who didn’t turn into a drunken asshole so I don’t think he’d say this in any way that wasn’t matter-of-factly. The Osbournes, well… they’re the Osbournes.
| | | Idk, Dee talking about songwriting like he was a wordsmith, talk about glass houses,
Ozzy wrote the lyrics to paranoid in 5 minutes, after the studio demanded a short single,
| | | I mean, is this really surprising. Ozzy was never exactly a scholar. A lot of the lyrics im quite sure he didnt write lol
| | | Yea and I don’t think anyone has ever claimed otherwise that’s why Dee saying this at all is silly
| | | i thought everyone knew that ozzy didn't write sabbath lyrics
| | | this sounds like something that didn't need to be turned into a news article
| | | “Dee also confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz is still, in fact, closed to all traffic, but added that your mom’s Strait of Hormuz stays open all year round”
| | | lmao
