U2 Take to the Streets 2026-08-18 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 5 Comments | U2 have released Street of Dreams, the first single from a forthcoming studio album that has yet to receive a title. Expected later this year, the record will be their first collection of new material since 2017's Songs of Experience.
Produced by Jacknife Lee, the single features all four members of the Irish band: Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and returning drummer Larry Mullen Jr.
Its music video was filmed around Plaza Santo Domingo in Mexico City, where U2 performed atop a customized school bus before a thunderstorm caused the production's generator to fail. A nearby family subsequently welcomed the group into its apartment, allowing filming to continue from the balcony.
The release arrives shortly before U2 celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their formation in September.

Good lord, while I feel like some of their earlier 2000s records are much better than people give them credit for, they are undoubtedly the lamest band in the world.
