The physical release of Radiohead's latest album In Rainbows, digitally released October 10, will be distributed by British label XL Recordings (Dizzee Rascal, MIA) in all territories outside of North America. No date has yet been announced, but the physical release is expected to coincide with the December 3 release of the accompanying boxset.

Radiohead expected to ink a separate for the US and Canada.

They're just selling the record twice.

People who paid what they thought was "right" for an album got a low bitrate version, and if they want a real cd they have to pay again.

Erm , why are people surprised? They said that they would sign to a label so they wouldn't have to handle shipping and shi't to get the album out there.

People are just taking this the wrong way. They knew if they waited to release the music on a CD then the world would have to wait another 2-3 months. They wanted to share their music as quickly as possibly.

I hope they release it in North America in December too

Wait, people actually spent money on the 128 kbps download, because they didn't know they were releasing a hard copy of the album? This Message Edited On 10.31.07

I haven't downloaded it because I want the physical copy.

Maybe I'm old.

Too bad just about everyone knew that the album would later come out on CD, so it's not as if anyone was forced to buy it online. Twit.

People took the "fuck labels" thing too seriously and as a result are unnecessarily confused by this decision.

i don't see why it's a big deal.. if you actually paid anything for the online release you were just paying to get it ahead of time imo, and on top of that the hardcopy release supposedly contains more songs.

Well if you feel that you've already paid enough for it then just download a ripped 320kbps versions when it's out.
