Interpol see out loud

Interpol return this summer with a brand new album, This Mirror Weighs a Ton, due out on August 28 through Partisan Records. The LP was produced by Andrew Wyatt (Charli XCX, Rosalia) and mixed by David Fridmann (Sleater-Kinney, MGMT). Together, they sought to expand the band's sound by utilising “strings, woodwinds, layered vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar and experimental sound design”. Also, longtime touring bassist Brad Truax wrote and recorded the bass lines for the first time since joining Interpol in 2011.

The first two singles released are ''See Out Loud'' and the title track. Listen to them below:

Tracklist:
‘This Mirror Weighs a Ton’
‘See Out Loud’
‘Iron City’
‘Wounded Soldier’
‘Wings On Fire’
‘Ever The Actor’
‘So Rides The Reindeer’
‘Darling Thoughts’
‘Wake Up’
‘Enemy’
‘Bird and The Serpent’
‘Sudden’

The t/t is great, really love the mellow/dreamy tone. The other song is decent too, albeit has too much of their usual DNA, except that Banks’ voice sounds somewhat harsher, and there’s another vocalist also? Maybe they’ll pull off some magic this time after two letdown albums.

Anyone check out Tycho’s song “Boundary Rider” with Paul Banks last year? Barely discovered it a month ago and it’s awesome. He sounds great in the song and I’m hoping for more of that on this new record.

"and there’s another vocalist also?"

I think it's Daniel Kessler singing leads too

Yeah, the title track is incredible. Great vibe, great production, fresh take. "See Out Loud" is conventional Interpol but they sound energized, which is good, and this feeling was severely lacking in the last album. Interested to see what will come out; probably will be the best after El Pintor.

Solid tracks, their last couple albums didn’t hook me but they’re always worth a check. Pumped to see them this fall
