These guys are so cooked. Literally not made anything beyond ok for over a decade and a half

FF has been such a boring band for years. I did like Sonic Highways and Wasting Light is great, as are their first 3 albums…other than that, they make bland and inconsistent albums.
This is pretty decent though. Not great, not bad. But I’m not holding out hopes that the album will be good.

Honestly gives me Father of All MFs vibes.
That's not a compliment.

Foo fighters have always been a band with two decent songs on an otherwise filler-filled album. I'm sure this will be no different.

Never liked Dave but man this material he writes these days is horrendous.

Last album was really good but yeah this is beige uninspired dad rock with more shockingly cheap sounding production

There's that real music that Rick Beato has been talking about!
Band is like a candy machine with what seems lots of colourful candies through the outside-glass til it checks that it's always just a similar shade of shallow.

Band is the definition of mid

Just awful

Yep this really does remind me of Father of All MFs. That take feels spot on.
I am by no means a big Foo Fighters fan, but there are a few albums here and there that feel really well done and I can at least understand their appeal. The majority of their catalogue is bland to the point that it feels like it would be completely ignored if anyone besides Dave Grohl were behind it.
There's this way a lot of their material seems so cloyingly self-referential, like somehow their music always seems to do this gesture where it's like, "hey music fans! We're the Foo Fighters! We're a fun rock band; check out our new Foo Fighters song! Oh man, we are a band and even though life is hard sometimes and we are super famous we are still normal guys in a band and it is awesome to be in a big famous band appreciating this moment to be here for you!" and I can't stand it.
This track might be the first time they have sounded straight up painful to listen to and not just boring or nauseatingly cliche. Truly awful, and even I will admit their last album wasn't so bad.

The Foo Fighters are such a band with songs and albums

“Literally not made anything beyond ok for over a decade and a half”
The last album had some fairly good tracks but this is possibly the most uninspired they’ve sounded in their careers. The songs aren’t so much awful as they are just dated. Kinda like what Platy said they’ve effectively turned into Green Day

I'm a fan of Dave Grohl's adultery but I didn't realize this is what his music sounded like. Bleh.

LMAO

😂

If they release another Greatest Hits covering the era since their last one, that might be decent
Much like how their last compilation is arguably the best way to listen to their older output as it cuts out all the filler.

Do we really need 'another' Foo Fighters album...

Really sounds like he's very consciously trying to write like both Kurdt and Josh in a desperate bid to reclaim authenticity. That ship sailed about 30 years ago, Dave!

listened for like 5 seconds, why is it mixed like 2003
