I dig it. They're moving into some dissoblack territory here and I'm all for it.

Hated the last album, but I like that this kind of feels like Chimera in some spots

wish they would go back to the weirdness of esoteric warfare but this wasn’t bad.

“ wish they would go back to the weirdness of esoteric warfare but this wasn’t bad.”

Yeah same. And by extension, Ordo Ad Chao which is the peak of weird scary music. Daemon was such a massive step back in how formulaic and generic it was. This seems more inspired, but yeah. Gimme the weird shit

they’ve basically just been doing cover albums of their old discography and I much preferred the blasphemer imitation to the eurynomous one.

Yeah, daemon was basically DMDS part 2 but at least it was good. I think a proper sequel to that album was cool and would be a nice one off in their discog, but this sounds closer to DMDS than it does something like ordo or esoteric. I do wish they'd go weird again but they are getting old now

Also, I cant believe daemon is 6 years old now. Doesn't feel like that long ago. Getting old fast man

Well, I like this a lot more that almost anything that came after Chimera. So I am mildy intrigued.

Daemon seemed like generic black metal, compared to their previous releases that experimented a lot and changed a lot. Well executed indeed, but quite generic.

Their whole discog rules. Only one that I don't love is Grand Declaration.

they can’t sound ‘weird’ because their two guitarists are not even close to the writing ability of blasphemer. it’s that simple.
