NIIIIIICE Mike has been busy lately, it seems

Fantastically written news, thanks for posting, can't remember the last time I listened to the Oceansize stuff I have.
| |
first time listening to this one and it's fucking phenomenal. can't believe i've not checked it until now.
| |
I guess I should check this band some day for some reason I've known of them for a long time but just never bothered
| |
Oh shit I'd never guess I will hear a "new" Oceansize tune. My friend was at one of their last shows in 2011, I discovered them like 10 years after the breakup. Song is fire of course.
| |
Anyways, Mike also continues to deliver very quality stuff under his Vennart project, at least his last two records have a huge Oceansize vibe to them.
| |
Man, I miss this band so much. No one sounds like them. I'm thankful for these new tracks though.
| |
Holy fuck, never expected this.
| |
Very happy news here. This band is so nostalgic for me.
Now if they'd just come back together and make something great...
| |
Wtfff mad
Everyone should check out the Cardiacs if they haven't already, featuring Mr. Vennart
| |
please
please make this happen
they were the last band i was desperately hoping would reunite but it seemed incredibly unlikely
| |
oscar acceptance speech is one of the best songs of the last 25 years
| |
I knew about this already, but i am pleasantly surprised this got a news article so quickly. Nice work!
| |
Excellent writeup @ShadowoftheCitadel!
Honestly you never know with the reunion, i feel like eveyone and Mike especially has calmed down their negative sentiments, maybe it will happen.
| |
Hellll yeah, goated band
| |
i don't see it on spotify
| |
damn i thought this was gonna be an Oceansize x Exotic Animal Petting Zoo collab
| |
that band went hard too back in the day
| |
Must not be on streams just yet, I just saw the bandcamp page open up for it today.
| |
This band made some truly amazing music but yeah on that last album you could tell they were spinning wheels just ever so slightly. Nice that Mike did quite a lot with his solo stuff though, that always made me feel they were around in spirit.
| |
I own all of their LPs and I had forgotten that this band exists. And how good they were. Maybe I should dig those records out of my archive and put them into my library...
| |
So what y'all saying regarding the remaster? The original had excellent dynamic range, so idk what there was to improve
| |
Would be nice if Oceansize did a Sikth and came back part time on their own terms. Doubt it though, as nothing in the music scene suggests they would come back any bigger than before, and they still might not be able to overcome differences, who knows. That he's working on anything to do with OS is a sign there is an emotional shift.
| |
Agreed. I also said something similar in the oceansize threads, I think the overall sentiments have grown rather positive over the last few years
