Disturbed's New Album Details

2007-10-26 by Trey STAFF | 19 Comments
This is all taken from an interview so here are the main points I took from it:

- The new album is called "Indestructable"

- Their vocalist described its direction musically and lyrically as "dark, very dark". Adding that there are a lot of guitar solos and that their drummer has taken the technicallity to the next level... "It's really a complex, dark and very fast and furiously paced record... Just very, very cool, very different, very aggressive, with a lot of that very syncopated vocal style that I kind of took a turn from for a while — that's really come back very prominently on this record."

- The band produced the album themselves this time.

- They're hoping to include a cover of Faith No More's "Midlife Crisis" on the album.

I know there will be a lot of shit-talking about them, but I thought their last album was the best of the three and am looking forward to the new album, especially if they include that cover...

hey, you never know... maybe touring with Nevermore in Europe opened their eyes a little.

it sounds interesting. But they dont seem like the kind of band that can pull that off, based on there history.

ive always liked disturbed except for Believe which to me was very weak and boring. i think their new album can really be a step up from everything they have done, or they can try too hard to make their sound more complex and therefore sound like crap

The cover of Midlife Crisis would be awesome.
Whilst their albums tend to be average overall, there are always one or two tracks that are really good, so looking forward to those.

I for one love Disturbed. Even if they're fairly mediocre. New album sounds good.

I'm a Disturbed fan, so I can't wait for this. I hope they keep their sound from TTF.

Well, kudos to them for jumping two bandwagons in a row.

Oddly enough, I'm somewhat anticipating this album now b/c of what was said in this news article. I didn't even care to look into 10,000 Fists after hearing one or two songs and I thought The Sickness sucked while Believe was decent. I could be mistaken but doesn't their vocalist have anything of an ego or overhype his band?

I'm going to be upset if this album goes back to the stuff done in The Sickness....not their best album. TTF was better

I liked Believe, but I thought the other two albums sucked. Hopefully they can pull through on this one.

I went to see them over here with a mate , Nevermore saved the evening for me as the support act (!) Disturbed were ok ..they got the kids screaming etc but I wont be tempted by a new album

Yesssss looking forward to this a great deal. David Draiman has often stated Tool as one of his major influences...perhaps the band is taking some of the technical prowess of Tool and putting it into their music? Who knows. All I know is I can't wait for this album.

These guys certainly have potential and I think they showed a small amount of this on their last album. Touring with Nevermore could not have been a bad thing for them.

Don't these kinds of bands usually release one or two shitty albums and then call it quits? I'm waiting...

Disturbed were above the nu-metal curve slightly when they released The Sickness. They only got better with each release IMO. I don't understand how Korn has stood the test of time since they haven't written anything interesting since 1998 (Follow the Leader).

When disturbed does a cover it is almost always better than the original. I can't wait for this album.

I'm excited for the new album. Their previous albums have all been good but they sounded a bit restrained on Believe and Ten Thousand Fists, so I was happy to hear David Draiman describe the next album as furiously paced and agressive.
