Kauan's way home 2025-05-02 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 25 Comments | Kauan announced a brand new album, Wayhome, due out on November 7 through Artoffact Records. Reportedly the most ambitious project of the group so far, it utilizes a 22-piece choir and at certain moments 1000 tracks, maxing out Logic Pro's multitrack limit. Aside from the vinyl, CD and streaming, it will also be available on Apple Music in Dolby Atmos.
The first song available for listening is "leave / let go". According to the band it serves "as both a standalone meditation and a crucial piece of the record’s larger narrative, the track captures the emotional weight of release—whether that means parting with a person, a place, or a former self. The song explores the act of departure as a form of healing—a necessary unraveling. It’s a pause on the larger journey, a moment of both surrender and transformation. In the context of Wayhome’s evolving fabric motif, “leave / let go” is where the first signs of wear appear: slight tears, faded colors, and the early marks of a story that will only deepen."
"The album is dedicated to journeys in both literal and mental senses. Both “way” and “home” can be interpreted differently, as one can return home after a long absence or just try to solve an inner problem, overcome an obstacle, be reborn, or even die."
Wayhome’s visual concept themed around the journey told through fabric and cloth. It begins with pure, untouched white. As the album unfolds, the fabric begins to wear: stained, burned, stretched, and torn. By the final track, the cloth is unrecognizable—transformed by everything it’s endured.
Listen to "leave / let go" below:
Tracklist:
1. aim / decide
2. outline / pave
3. depart / dive
4. leave / let go
5. soothe / sear
6. haste / ascend
7. embrace / repel
8. arrive / resolve

eat that jari
song is very nice - excited how it works into the rest of the album but why november for release? 6 months is an astonishingly long lead time
| | | So pumped for new Kauan
| | | excellent song
| | | LETS GO!!!!
| | | Nice! Bizarrely long wait until release date, but should be great vibes in the autumn. Band always delivers.
| | | I must say I had hoped for more. But it's always good to start out with low expectations.
| | | the song itself is uneventful but the atmosphere and general vibe is delightful and feels markedly different to their other works so i'm very excited
6 month wait is absurd though
| | | Yeah what others said. Waiting 6 months for this will be hard
| | | Sounds promising
| | | I think an autumn release suits these guys well. Maybe the date is significant to the album?
| | | Will jam tomorrow. Great band.
| | | Didn’t read the article but came here to say SIX MONTHS WTF lol
| | | With that many tracks why doesn't Kauan have to crowd fund a sauna like Jari did?
| | | Sounds interesting as fuck tbh
| | | Guess you don't consider fucking very interesting lmaooooo
| | | new song out - the two songs flow beautifully into each other, sounds like the follow up to 'pirut'
| | | Can't wait for this album.
| | | yeah this is a contender for aoty for me if the quality stays up
| | | I didn't enjoy Ice Fleet, but the rest of their stuff that I've heard is amazing. Still have 2 or 3 of their albums that I haven't heard yet.
| | | I didn’t love the new one as much as this
| | | their first album is really messy - i strongly recommend checking out muistumia instead, they take the best compositions from their first two albums and give them the recording that they deserve. last 2 tracks in particular are amazing stuff.
otherwise everything from their second album onwards is worth hearing.
| | | agreed!
| | | one of the best bands running
| | | Really wish they wouldnt announce the album half a year before release though : (
| | | yeah idgi, it's entirely nonsensical because any hype that they built up earlier in the year will have been forgotten about.
