If this is indeed true (most people are claiming it to be a rumour around the net from what I've seen), this fuckin blows... I just got into them a year ago and they're actually pretty good... Nice intensity live, too... I am sad.

According to Pitchfork, the band hasn't offically broken up yet and a announcement from the band about the subject is due by the end of the year.

This sucks. Loved this band for a long time now, but I saw this coming. I think the reason for the hiatus is that Johnny wants to spend more time with his wife and the fact that on their last tour, they looked really burned out and they needed a break. Add the fact that Some Girls broke up and it really ruined my day. Anyone else think Justin Pearson's label is going under?
