I like the darker lyrics. A couple years back he lost his mom and his daughter in the span of a week, and he's been pretty open that the lyrics are influenced by that

In theory I like that he's doing heavier-ish stuff nowadays but it's all so painfully by the numbers. His voice carries it a good amount though
