Let’s go
| |
Ew, Rise. Yay, TA tho
| |
I remember when this band was good. Those were the days.
| |
They've always been good
| |
Ah yeah, I forgot they remastered Is Survived By recently. I concede that one.
| |
Haven't heard anything since Stage Four.
| |
If you liked stage four you’d probably like lament hawks
| |
Gonna have to czech.
| |
I'm comin around on the new song quite a bit
| |
Hate to admit it but this does sound pretty phoned in. Hopefully it grows on me.
| |
I listened to it a few times and it still just feels like a b side from Lament or something. Like Green is a better track than this imo
Idk im still excited but this is probably the weakest single they’ve ever put out for me
| |
I never got the hype for this band personally but I'm glad their fans are still digging their output.
| |
They were great live on the recent Deafheaven tour, looking forward to their next LP.
| |
stage four is classic
| |
I'm one of those weirdos who much prefers the first two records and that first EP
| |
Do the toms still sound like they’re filled with pudding?
| |
the new single is big mid
| |
Song is ok but I'm glad it's a short one lol
| |
The vocals are bad. I mean really bad.
| |
Biased as they're one of my all time favourite bands (second only to Funeral for a Friend) but I'm digging this quite a bit. Sounds like a natural progression for them and proves that Touche Amore never miss. Probably the most consistent band out of "The Wave".
For context, here's how I rank their albums:
Parting the Sea
Stage Four
Dead Horse/Lament (like both equally and my preference between the two changes depending on my mood)
Is Survived By
| |
Every single album this band puts out feels like some kind of big "final statement"
| |
Vocalist really sounds like he’s going through the motions on this one
| |
zzz this sounds super phoned in
| |
Yeah, dead horse is still their best. They've kind of toned their sound down quite a bit (I wanna say since ISB) but their signature is still there even if it doesn't hit as hard.
| |
"weakest single", "big mid", "going through motions", "phoned in"
Unfortunately I agree with all of this. Single just sounds thin to me. No punch. I loved Stage four and thought Lament was pretty good.
| |
He still can't sing for shit, and it pains me that he is so insistent on doing it.
| |
it's sad because i'm a pretty big fan of most of their music and have seen them live more than most bands. this is just sleep fuel. the band even looks bored performing in this music video lol
| |
burned out office worker core
| |
Stage four was their opus that feels like they will never be able to top. Everything else just feels like a lesser attempt. Lament is good but I can’t help but thing of stage 4 and be like those were the days.
| |
This is ok, nothing special. Really dose make you miss the days of S4 though.
| |
Man I actually really dig this. It's wholesome even if it's a much simpler and more barebones iteration of anything they've done Stage Four and later. Jeremy Bolm sounds like a happy boy
| |
Bad song, good guitar tone
| |
Jeremy cant even talk anymore and you people want him to sing lol
| |
That's a good point haha. Dude really did a number on his voice
| |
Their opus is definitely ...Is Survived By
| |
I can see the point why people refer to this as phoned in, but at the same time I kinda dig it for that matter if that makes any sense. The kind of resigned writing seems to do this song a favour which, again, sounds very antithetic considering the comments about his screams lol
| |
this is barely in rise against b-side territory
| |
Their opus is stage four no doubt. That album is amazing
| |
@johnny
And a lengthy bane 4 u
| |
“Their opus is definitely ...Is Survived By“ [2]
slex my guy
| |
very predictable, boring, nothing song.
| |
yeah, it's not very memorable
| |
The song is fine! It's nothing particularly amazing but it gets the job done. Still enough to get me interested in the new album which is all I really care about. Just hope the rest of the album is stronger overall.
| |
Yeah a lot of their singles play better in the context of the whole album.
Skyscraper was a very bizarre single choice for Stage Four, but within the context of the rest of the album coming at the very end, it hits hard.
| |
This is kind of a let down, but I'm sure I'll like it better in context.
Also,
Gravity, Metaphorically > ISB > S4 > PTS > TTBOADH > Lament
| |
Skyscraper was a weird single choice but it's also way better than this. I don't feel this was a great song to present as a first impression.
| |
great ranking jamdbz
| |
yeah song is ok
| |
