It's not going to dethrone their Fix You cover, but this was still very pretty and the cause seems quite worthwhile.

One Tree Hill fans about to go stupid to this

this is about as lackluster as the Hammock collab tbf. The soul that I recognized them for is nowhere to be found lately
|
| |
From what I understand, the Hammock "album" was basically just a Ryan Key solo project where he sent them the songs and they "dreamified" them and then sent them back. I'm not putting too much stock in that.
This one could have had a cooler flourish or more embellishments, but I'm thinking maybe they kept it simpler/sadder because it's presumably to honor a close friend who passed. Who knows though. I do hope whatever they put out next is more traditional YC, like Childhood Eyes.

fair takes, and obviously great on them that they are using the proceeds for the family
|
| |
Truthfully this is a song no one should ever cover. But I love it so much I had to check. They did a good job maintaining the gravity of it and the cause is obviously part of that.

I dig the cover. I’m just surprised anyone covered this at all. But along with how deep this song is…they did it justice. I happy with it. Immediately added to the library.

Cover is a solid 3.5. its not as good as the original but few things in life are.
|
| |
Absolutely. There's no topping the Jimmy version, particularly the demo which has so much more raw emotion.

not bad but the vocal take on this is not my favourite tbh. he sings the first line like a robot lmao
|
| |
Yeah tbh I agree. Def a tough one to cover, still nice enough overall, but here's to hoping their next EP or LP isn't Hammock influenced.

“ not bad but the vocal take on this is not my favourite tbh.”
Someone said this on a Chorus.fm post and Ryan Key was a whiny bitch about it.
|
| |
Yeah I just saw this. Thought we shed away bitter Ryan but I guess he's still hiding in there.
|
| |
Yeah he comments a lot on chorus to defend himself and their bad songs it’s really embarrassing To be honest
|
| |
It’s Jason’s website so he can run it however he likes, but I’ve had three accounts banned on Chorus.fm for disagreeing with him.
|
| |
very nice cover
|
| |
Lmfao nononsense that’s hilarious. Yes I do not like Jason at all and is part of the reason I don’t go there much anymore. But I was talking about Ryan commenting and defending
