Man, not having Stephen as the vocalist anymore sucks and Matty sounds like genuine shit in comparison. Instrumentally this is a pretty weak track overall but those vocals are not doing this any favors whatsoever.

No new vocalist would sound right filling Stephen's shoes...hope he's doing okay, seems very odd that he'd just drop out. The Vega LP also seems like such a cash grab. Mashing together two EPs that were already heavily promoted and tacking on two (likely subpar) songs with a totally different singer just seems extremely lazy to me. If they wanted Vega to be an LP they should have just kept the original tracklists from each EP and let it be Stephen's last (?) offering. Then they could begin a new era with Mullins, assuming the arrangement is permanent.

yeah this doesn't sound like Anberlin at all...I was never as big a fan of Christian's vocals as everybody else seemed to be, but at least it gave the band more of an identity than Matty's voice (which I think isn't bad per se).

Also, fyi: I heard Steven can't do touring and stuff because he's a pastor now. Kinda hard to do that while touring all over the country/world.

They explained it openly on a 2 minute yt video that he has to choose his career to feed his wife and kids. He has been a pastor forever.

Song's crap but the band is a business so ya gotta make money somehow. Shame that the band will inevitably continue on in such a weak state.

I'm a certified Matty hater past the first MMF album so I felt laser targeted when my favorite band of 15 years announced that he was gonna be their new (touring but also studio apparently?) vocalist. Still though, it's my favorite band so I held out some hope this would work and man..."disappointed" doesn't cut it. Not even a terrible song on its own, but feels like several steps back for a band that was often a breath of fresh air from this type of generic pop rock. Feels like they wrote a Matty song first rather than an Anberlin song because even they knew his voice doesn't work with the band's typical sound.
