RIP no waver James Chance 2024-06-19 by Cyan isn't a shade of blue. | 14 Comments | New York no wave frontman James Chance has died on June 18th, 2024 at the age of 71. He was most famous for being the first of 4 legendary artists on the No New York compilation put together by Brian Eno.
Starting off as a trained jazz musician, James turned to punk when he felt like he didn't fit in the jazz scene. He had many short lived bands including James Chance and the Contortions, James White and the Blacks, and James White's Flaming Demonics, among others.
