Yeah if anything Smosh had one of the only successful internet “resurrections” I’ve seen in a long time - I’ve significantly aged out of their content but I’m happy they’ve found happiness making shit with each other again. I envied their friendship and success back in the day

They're OG YouTube royalty, especially when it comes to comedy on the platform. That's pretty much the biggest reason, plus nostalgia since their main channel has gone back to their original style of comedy

Yeah they were one of the first (if not the first channel) to sign groundbreaking revenue deals with YouTube at the ground level in like 2007 as teenagers. They were pioneers.

I think they were one of the first channels to utilise the multi-channel network system too when they turned Ian's personal channel into essentially the Smosh vlogging channel (and now it's Smosh Pit for their improv stuff from the rest of the cast), as well as the Charlie the Drunk Guinea Pig Channel, Smosh Games and their short lived cartoons channel. Nowadays it's Smosh, Smosh Pit, Smosh Games and SmoshCast.

Also apparently the concept of this came from watching an old behind-the-scenes video where Anthony asked why Ian looked so "submissive and breedable" in one shot, and that's what inspired the entire song.
