this timeline is punishment to us all for all the idiots who shat their pants and declared Assassination a peak of synthpop

Yeah true sadly. Enjoyed Caesar's Ass, but it's far from my fave Ulveelution. And it's the best from this current phase too, which is even sadder.

Still waiting on post grunge Ulver, or a Creed covers album.

"Enjoyed Caesar's Ass"-LOL

That album is one of my favorite Ulver releases, but it's been diminishing returns since then.

I like it but at this point (or for now) Ulver's key releases are the live albums

I liked ulver for the fact they'd reinvent themselves every album but I guess they've settled into this niche

Sputbros just want them to make Nettens Madrigal again

Dude no. We've moved beyond that for a couple of decades now. Decades filled to the brim with amazing Ulver LPs.

The last couple of albums don't really reach those highs for many of us though, it seems.

I don't want them to do Nattens again but just imagine a fusion of this sound with their old sound.

I tremble at the thought.

What? Naw lol. Even in their electronic phase they were always reinventing themselves. Perdition city, blood inside, shadows, messe all sound distinct from one another. Suddenly the last 3 are all the same. I just liked when I didn't know what to expect from them

I don't want any artist making an album they don't want to just to please some fans. That's guaranteed to be bad results
