Song is pretty damn fun
|
| |
i like the chorus but the rest of the song's just kind of there
|
| |
jammed this a bunch already and i still think the hook is ass lmao dude sounds like he wandered into the vocal booth drunk. musically better than pale iris but nothing amazing. jt sounds phenomenal tho
im guessing this isnt going to be the self titled follow up of my hopes and dreams, but hopefully ill get a couple of bangers outta it
|
| |
Solid.
|
| |
Solid.
|
| |
Song rules band rules album will rule
|
| |
nice. april is so soon! big year for UNFD.
|
| |
JT sounding good. Jesse chorus sounding weird. guitar sounding good. Keen for more.
|
| |
Gave me a solid stank face for sure
|
| |
"Longing for a wish or a cure."
Weird phrasing. If you want a cure, you want a cure. If you want a wish, you want a wish.
But a wish or a cure, that's strange.
|
| |
That’s just Erra lyrics honestly. They’ve always been a little more out there
|
| |
I think you're right. I only know their previous album but their lyrics seems very abstract.
|
| |
They really rose to the top of the pile with that last record. Solid song.
|
| |
@KevinKC That's Jesse for ya. I don't mind the word salad-y lyrics though, sets Erra apart from a lot of core bands in the scene
@Nordic oh 100%. Self-titled definitely put them on top. Don't know if this album will match those heights, but I'm expecting a banger
|
| |
For anyone curious BTW, this is the full tracklist:
Cure
Rumor of Light
Idle Wild
Blue Reverie
Slow Sour Bleed
Wish
Glimpse
Past Life Persona
Crawl Backwards Out of Heaven
End to Excess
Pale Iris
Wave
|
| |
Yeah, I don't mind word salad lyrics, if it works, it works. If it doesn't it doesn't.
I really enjoyed their previous album too. I listened to it a lot of times and still don't know any of the tracks name because I would just play it from beginning to end.
|
| |
the lyrics on the last album were like 90% great 10% incredibly stupid to the point that they become great
need me some rubymeat bass beat energy
|
| |
I wish I liked this more. The chorus is just kinda boring to me.
|
| |
I don't want the world to see me, cause i dont think that they'd understand
|
| |
“i like the chorus but the rest of the song's just kind of there” [2]
|
| |
I like what they tried to do with the chorus but it just doesn't hit for me after a couple listens. Verses are ok but basic. Not super feeling this one to be honest, feels lazy for the most part.
|
| |
just realized my beef with the hook
that sounds like fuckin new thornhill lmao, just without the filter
|
| |
oh no not thornhill
|
| |
yawn
|
| |
Oh shit yeah I can see Thornhill in it for sure. Bummer
Quit making accurate comparisons that ruin my enjoyment of an average song 😭
|
| |
i am so sorry
|
| |
I am not a fan of this new’ish era Northlane guitar tone that a lot of bands are replicating now. When done absolutely great it can work but unless it’s incredibly unique and memorable guitar work it all starts to sound the same
|
| |
Jesse is an absolute god in the genre so I’m not trashing his playing, more so his production choices
|
| |
not very good
|
| |
Pretty dissapointing song. Still holding out hope for the full album as their self titled is the best in their whole discography, so hopefully they'll continue along that path
|
| |
Touche on the "longing for a wish or a cure" comment. Makes me think of why JT is a solid harsh vocalist- all emphasis and diaphragm. LONGING FOR A WISH OR A KYURRRR
|
| |
jt does sound very very good on this
production is also great. it is odd how they have the exact opposite problems as they did like two albums ago lol
|
| |
Band is a one trick pony at this point.. everything they put out sounds very samey
|
| |
Their self-titled record was fantastic, and "Pale Iris" released last year looked to be keeping the same momentum. I'm not crazy about this one though. It's nothing bad at all per se, it's just unremarkable. Even their self-titled record had a song or two that weren't as strong as the others, so maybe this is the one on their new record.
|
| |
It was a song to listen to that I didn’t make. Can’t complain. The guitar part at 3:07 is so rad
|
| |
I long for a new cure album too
|
| |
kinda settling into this a bit more. still think the hook sucks lmao but otherwise this has some cool ideas that could lead to some promising roads. i reaaally like the breakdown at the end
|
| |
The most bargain bin Erra song I ever heard
|
| |
they are undeniably chilling much closer to the bargain bin for comfort. hopefully dropping the longest track on the album next week will be something more exciting
just need a hook that doesn't remind me of fuckin thornhill or currents or whatever
|
| |
I've never enjoyed this band but this isn't...bad per say. just very formulaic and bland. could be worse though
|
| |
Both new songs are solid but they're definitely a step down from S/T
|
| |
more i give it a shot the more I think pale iris sucks but i think that's just never gonna grow on me i guess lmao. at least i like this one
|
| |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bngdu1vk_c4
this is pretty cool. the homie alan trying to build like a guitar midi library and he did the breakdown of this song
|
| |
no robert smith feature fuck right off
|
| |
them naming this record after the band i've been waiting on the longest time to drop is yet another instance of them dunking on me this album cycle
|
| |
New single out! “Blue Reverie”, and it’s way chiller and atmospheric in sound. I dig it, it’s pretty different from Cure and Pale Iris, but it pulls it off imo
|
| |
Definitely a better song than this imo.
