dookie indeed
| |
This dookie is turning 30 but they have lots of newer dookie too
| |
Album rules but i have little interest in purchasing this and it's probably expensive as shit.
| |
some of these demos own
| |
Bought it on tape when it came out, very exciting and fresh but bearing in mind I was 13/14 at the time I found it very childish.
Even then I remember thinking ‘this clearly isn’t punk, the yanks haven’t a clue’
| |
it may not be punk but it whips ass
| |
30 year old dookie
| |
It was ‘sold’ as punk isn’t dead and that the band was proper ‘punk’ but I was having none of it.
Along came all that skate punk nonsense as well which don’t get me wrong at 14yrs old had its moments but it became ridiculously stale after 5mins.
This album is great though. An absolute classic when I was at school and it has aged well. Longview is still an absolute belter.
| |
nasty
best song ever (it has canon in it so obv ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
| |
"Along came all that Skate-Punk nonsense"
Easy Grandpa
| |

‘"Along came all that Skate-Punk nonsense"
Easy Grandpa’
Leave it out pal I was there, it was shite.
| |
Hahahaha "Brain Stew"
| |
green day sux but id take it over rancid, nofx, that sort of thing
| |
Pennywise, Bad Religion, Ten Foot Pole.
It was all dross.
| |
Ive said it before but it's amazing how 30 short years can make everyone forget that when green day and blink 182 and NOFX and the offspring came out the punks were all in agreement that they were poser sellout music for babies with no credibility whatsoever
| |
Blink 182 were another level of infantile dross.
Slippery slope that started with the mass appeal of these bell ends.
| |
billy joe is basically bono at this point.
| |
They peaked with dookie. Been crap ever since
| |
Good Riddance is a classic
| |
poseur punk best punk
| |
And the gatekeepers come out lol.
| |
some of these demos own (2)
| |
Also this 10 track release is 100 times better than the Nimrod 25th boxset.
| |
i dont even like op ivy
| |
heres a hot take: jawbreaker? too whiny. husker du is appropriate level of wimp
| |
the boys in the school yard had quite the nickname for green day back in my time, i shant repeat it here
| |
Band sucks hard but the bridge part in welcome to paradise goes so hard
| |
still a great album
| |
Listening to these demos is fascinating.
Hearing the piano ballad “when it’s time” in particular because I always assumed all the softer stuff was a product of the American Idiot era yet it’s clear they were toying with ideas well outside of “pop punk” years and years before they actually released to the public.
| |
“Dookie to be released on September 29th.”
Close to the end of the month, I see… around the time the guy singing usually expects to be woken up.
| |
I did it all for the Dookie!
... right?
| |
Classic. Everything since AI has been dookie though
| |
y'all doin way too much in here, 90s green day whips

it is nuts how old this song is yeah lol
| |
used to cover When I Come Around with my school band (like every school band on the planet) back in the day, good times. Legendary album
| |
the first concert i ever played with my first band was like 90% green day songs yea
rad band to learn instruments on bc mikes parts were legit wild so after you get all the basic powerchords done youre ready to pick up the bass and graduate to more advanced stuff
| |
this album will be dookie
| |
The only Green Day album I acknowledge
| |
Now that is one big pile of dookie
| |
is this the line to make dookie jokes
| |
Kinda aged like shit, I must say.
| |

Dookie was a fun nugget. Burnin' out while Emenius Sleeps and I think I want to go home.
| |
Dookie frickin ruled, y'all nuts. Also, you haven't fully lived if you haven't chanted along to BroHymn at Warped Tour.
