Swift Quake [2.3]

2023-07-29 by Fernando Alves | 24 Comments
According to seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach, Taylor Swift's recent shows at Lumen Field in Seattle on July 22nd and 23rd produced seismic activity equivalent to a magnitude 2.3 earthquake. Dubbed the "Swift Quake", the seismic activity has been compared to the 2011 "Beast Quake", when supporters of the Seattle Seahawks American footbal team went into raptures after a touchdown by Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch. The mass hysteria that followed was recorded by the same local seismometer as the Taylor Swift's gigs.

Seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach told CNN: "I grabbed the data from both nights of the concert and quickly noticed they were clearly the same pattern of signals,” she said, adding, “If I overlay them on top of each other, they’re nearly identical."

Swift's Seattle shows were totally sold out, with the Saturday gig smashing the previous venue record set by U2 in 2011 with 72,171 spectators.

This is one of those albums that takes the listener by surprise and keeps you wanting more. From the opening track, "To Kill a Priest", to the closing track, "Self Storage", I was blown away. "Jack Nicholson" is a tragically depressed, and mind blowing track that gave me chills throughout. In fact, almost every song on this album gave me chills, which is very rare for me nowadays. The Mayan Factor is a severely underrated band, or maybe it is that they are unheard of, but in any case, I am deeply saddened that they are no longer making music. It is rare for me to give an album a 5/5, but to me, 44 is a classic that I will be listening to for as long as I live.

It's amazing how huge she is for the fact that she's a 6/10 singer.
