Borknagar to remaster Universal 2023-06-27 by Trey STAFF | 7 Comments | Progressive black metal artists, Borknagar, are set to reissue their 2010 release, Universal on August 25th 2023.
The reissue will be available as a standard CD jewel case, as a digital album and as limited edition transparent sun yellow and white 180g 2LP in a gatefold cover. The White version is strictly limited to 300 copies, and only available through CM Distro.
The reissue includes all the 10 songs from the Universal recording session, and has been remastered by Dan Swano at Unisound AB using the original mixes.

I couldn't find anywhere that said why they chose this album to remaster, but there it is. Not one of my favorite Borknagar releases, but I'll still give it a listen.

I listened to it when Axioma Ethica Odini came out and I needed some more music like that, but it's nothing mind-blowing. Not a bad album, but I really don't get why they had to remaster it.

98% of the time remasters are just to renew trademarks or change ownership
