Protomartyr dance till the end

Detroit post-punk and gloom band, champions of jadedness and intricate clattering, Protomartyr, have now released their second teaser track off the upcoming Formal Growth In The Desert, out on Domino Records June 2nd. The track, titled "Elimination Dances", offers band's usual brand of patient, lyrically dense, brooding atmosphere, topped off with menacing swelling and engrossing bits that hit like a drunken abusive parent. Joe Casey also pushes his vocals to some Isaac Brock-like squeals. The track is accompanied by a music video by long-time band collaborator Kota Yamazaki, and is as minimalist, barebones, and eerie, as is to be expected from the pairing.

Listen to the track below:

Took a few listens for it to really click. Honestly, this band turns out excellent work pretty much every time. I can't think of a punk adjacent rock band doing better things at the moment.
