Better than the original.
| |
Bangs. Can't wait to hear the Maiden one.Oh and the Tina Turner cover.
| |
I really enjoyed the last set of covers they released so I'm hype for this.
| |
"good for them"
Absolutely. Released a banger cover and got half a million views after only a day. Very good for them. Man I can't wait to hear all the other songs
| |
shit band
| |
Can’t wait for the Maiden cover [2]
Releasing on Easter is also A+ Satan trolling
| |
eh...
| |
Not a huuuge fan of either version, just a tad too 80s-cheesy, but it's a good fit for 'em! Could use a solo or something to break up all those choruses, still interested to hear the whole thing tho
| |
shitstain band
| |
A not great song turned into an atrocious Kid Rock-level abomination... terrible Dad Rock band
| |
“ eh...”
[2]
I love the idea of Ghost way more than the actual thing
| |
every time I'm amazed at how mad this band seems to make people
| |
embrace the cheese
| |
Part of the show chilled.
People having fun? In this day and age? How dare they?
| |
Tobias doesn't care, I love it. Can't wait for the Tina Turner cover.
| |
Yeah idk why people get so angry with them, they're a pretty harmless band. Melinoe slaps ngl
| |
even worse than expected
| |
How the hell is this more '80s than the original?! Banger fosho. Haven't been this excited about Ghost in exactly 10 years.
| |
Meh
| |
Fun cover, also perfect depiction of the miserable shithole that is the States, which is probably ruffling some feathers in this comment section.
| |
Consider my feathers ruffled, John
| |
Cover is cool, clips is interesting too. Keen as for the rest of the EP.
| |
this is fun
| |
When I was a little kid, my parents had the Genesis Live album (The Shorts) that came out in the 90s-- this was one of my favorite songs on that record.
| |
Idk what was more awful: what I've heard or what I've seen.
| |
The biggest challenge for me this year will probably be appreciating the Tina Turner cover. There are very few timelines where that happens.
| |
Normally I'd agree, but given how they crushed this cover I've got high hopes for that one too.
| |
Eg, as the timeline hopper you are, how dank is our timeline?
| |
Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where, uh, Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as, uh, anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your ass. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and, uh, Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare

Kalk, sorry I guess I kinda phrased that wrong - we can really only talk about the dankness of branches, not entire timelines - since those will always balance out. Reality is a zero sum game.
But ok, since the 1600s this one has generally been pretty dank. Although with this Genesis resurgence it seems we are getting into less danker times.

See, that's why I am asking your expertise here. Thank you for the profound and comprehensible answer

My second favourite Genesis cover after the seminal cover of Land of Confusion by Disturbed.
