Radiohead recently announced that there will be no advances, promotional copies, digital streams, media sites of their lastest album, In Rainbows. That is seriously a great idea.

No transcodes, good stuff.

Great idea!

it's tentatively free (unless i haven't followed this properly.. realistically who WANTS to pay for something they could have for 0 dollars?), so who cares if it gets leaked or not...?

It's moral test of sorts. Sure, you can have it for free and take advantage of the artist, but would you rather provide a negligible amount of cash so the said artist can eat?
idk man, idk

I paid $8 for it...that's how much CDs should be worth.
|
| |
so says you, all-knowing demon
|

No, it's just that there's no reason to pay $15 dollars for a CD.

Help Radiohead! They sleep in a van!

The lead up to this record has reached near gimmick level, but...I'm not complaining.
|

This means someone was stupid enough to ask Radiohead for a promo copy, as if Radiohead cares about press.

Radiohead is so great. I just hope this albumis better than Hail to the Thief.
|

I'm not going to pay for the download. I'm definitely going to buy the physical copy when it comes out in '08, but I don't want to pay for the CD and not have a hard copy of it.
I'm pretty sure if Radiohead was in desperate need of money they wouldn't do this.,
