Surprisingly don't hate this. Nothing special, but better than a lot of stuff they've put out in recent years.
|
| |
I am excited to listen. Hoping for something better than everything post-hiatus. Pre-hiatus FOB was incredible.
|
| |
It's better than anything in the past 10 years but it's just like fine
|
| |
Bruh are they good again?
|
| |
I am fine with fine. I will always have love for my first band-crush. Last the the Real ones was the only track I really loved off their last so hoping for a bit more off this one.
|
| |
Holy shit. Just listened and this is by far their best song since Folie. I am definitely already (over) hyped for the new album.
Sincerely shocked by how great this was especially when you look at it compared to all their other post-hiatus songs.
|
| |
this has big "doing pop punk again for the fans" energy
it's an okay song and it's genuinely nice to hear that sound again but it seems a bit forced
|
| |
Well damn looks like they might actually be back !!! Best song in years and yes pre hiatus FOB slaps!!!
|

"Fall Out Boy have announced the release of a new album [...] through Fueled by Ramen..."

I like the energy and style the song brings, but it's not super catchy. Still, it's a step in the right direction and I'm mildly anticipating the LP now.
Also, they're back with Neal Avron who produced Cork Tree, Infinity on High, and Folie a Deux, so that's good news as well.
|
| |
apparently Neil also produced every Yellowcard album after Ocean Avenue so, y'know, good history there
|
| |
didnt love this but its solid
|
| |
I'm hereby canceling Pete Wentz. And Carson Wentz.
|

"this has big "doing pop punk again for the fans" energy"
I didn't get this at all. I feel like it still incorporates their newer influences of making large pop anthems. Felt sincere to me anyway ... especially when its compared to things like the most recent Blink single.

Today is a great day... best FOB song in at least 15 years lol
|
| |
Honestly loved it, this is exactly where they needed to go after Mania. Punchy, energetic, and that hook is as massive as any of their best. Really don't know what more you could ask for from FOB, especially modern-day FOB
|
| |
Praying for a return to form. They haven't put out a good album since Folie à Deux. MANIA was a disaster.
|
| |
Oh shit. Excited to hear this. Band always tries their best and always makes an album that's either a 4.0 or a 2.0
|
| |
Also we need to appreciate the short album rollout since we complain about the extended rollout so much. Everyone's rating should be bumped 0.5 for the new album just cuz they aren't money grabbing and torturing their fans for a year long 6 single rollout.
|
| |
Not bad. Kinda weak for a first single though
|
| |
Titles of the books at start of video
1. Good Charlotte's Web
2. Of Modest Mice and Men
3. Crime and Punishment At The Disco
4. The Giving Plain White Tee
5. Where the Wild Things MCR
6. Taking Back Fundays With Morrie
7. Catch 182
8. The Weezer of Oz

prechorus absolutely goes on this. love hearing them competently produced again
|
| |
Song is great
|
| |
Okay yeah I'm on board with this. Easily the best song they've made in over a decade.
|
| |
Shaping up to be a damn fine year for powerviolence!
|
| |
At last the world is safe, eh Fall Out Boy?
|
| |
Good song. Looks like this'll be better than anything since 2013 at least.
|
| |
very Folie a Deux.
|
| |
You must be on crack
|
| |
Good point on the album rollout storm, we love a good 2-ish-months-in-advance album announcement don't we folks
Couple more listens under my belt and the kinda messy non-rhyme scheme on the chorus is starting to itch my taint a bit but that melody still just soars, also so nice to hear a modern rock song where the drummer isn't just taking the check- fills! Lead ins! Huzzah!
|
| |
Joe taking a break from the band for mental health, hope that dude's alright. must suck to take a step back just when they're ramping up again, but as long as he's doing what's best for him
|
| |
Ty kompy ❤
Rowan oh no! Hopefully he can get out of the funk. Maybe he ate too many edibles.
|
| |
not bad, already like it more than anything off folie a dicks
|
| |
"First band crush"
Cringe
I'm from Chicago and never heard that. You must be like 24.
|
| |
I'm 28 and also from Chicago, not sure what that has to do with anything though!
|
| |
@Rowan I was wondering where Joe was. The posted some recent live photos and he was noticeably absent. Do you happen to know if he participated in recording the new album at least?
|
| |
Lol, this dude doesn't know saying "cringe" is cringe yet.
|
| |
Dromasrt shut up
|
| |
this fucking slaps. Inject that prechorus into my veins
|
| |
@Feather he did, he's been heavily promoting it and saying he's really proud of it but he just had to step away
I've been hearing the dude has some kind of degenerative disease, super sad stuff
|
| |
Didn’t hate it, which is a step in the right direction. Haven’t really liked anything of theirs since Folie.
|
| |
@rowan I am really glad to hear that it is in fact him playing on the record. Good for him being able to know that he needs time away from touring. Hope he is doing alright.
|
| |
My gf managed to get us 2 tickets to their Chicago Metro show on Wednesday this week. I am on cloud 9.
|
| |
most exciting thing they've done in a decade
|
| |
Song has definitely continued to grow on me.
|
| |
If the album can carry the momentum of this single, it'll set them back on track from where they derailed during Save Rock and Roll. This is the most excited I have been for a FOB release since Infinity.
|
| |
Oh wow they went back to their old sound!! Shame their old sound was boring as fuck
|
| |
