Jeff Beck dies aged 78 2023-01-12 by Fernando Alves | 26 Comments | Legendary British guitarist Jeff Beck died this Tuesday (January 10th) at the age of 78, from bacterial meningites.
"On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing. After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family ask for privacy while they process this tremendous loss.", reads a statement posted on the musician's official social media.
Considered one of the greatest and most influential guitarists of all time, Beck gained notoriety with The Yardbirds in the 1960s, where he played alongside Jimmy Page and Erick Clapton, before embarking on a solo career that orbited genres such as blues, rock, or jazz-rock. The iconic guitarist won eight Grammy awards and was inducted into the Roll Hall of Fame both as a member of The Yardbirds and as a solo guitarist.

Yes! Beck took Amused to Death to the next level! A total master of bending strings, like none other. My dad took me to a Jeff Beck/Santana concert when I was 11 years old in '96. So seeing Beck was my first concert ever. Got to see him once again with Brian Wilson in '13, again with my dad. Legend! RIP
