"Lift me up, hold me down" maybe the most generic line ever.

Generic pop music for an ultra-generic superhero movie that's trying to get bonus points for feigning reverence and pretending it has 100 times the dramatic heft than it actually has as a kids' movie. Big cringe. At least that's the awful trailer talking, the movie could actually be not half-bad.

If I was writing a tribute song, I'd at least try to avoid Dr. Seuss-ing it.

‘Ultra-generic super hero’

The cultural significance to young black kids having a super hero they can see themselves in and having the majority of the movie take place in a (fictional) African city was big. Black Panther was a big deal and Kendrick made some bangers for the first movie though I’m sure this is lame.
