New Candlemass LP, Nov 18th 2022-08-20 by Fernando Alves | 9 Comments | Doom legends Candlemass will be dropping their thirteenth studio album, Sweet Evil Sun, on November 18th via Napalm Records. The music video for the first single, 'Scandinavian Gods', can be seen below.
Leif Edling on the new song: " 'Scandinavian Gods' is Slayer meets Queen and Judas Pries! It’s about heritage and future and the fact that It is sometimes absolutely necessary to leave or at least doubt your old gods. It’s about the hardship in this, and the irony in the fact that you see yourself being drawn back to them over and over again, into these black circles and the forgetfulness of the past. Where do we wanna be? What shall we believe in? Do we need them to build a better future? ”
Tracklist:
1. Wizard of the Vortex
2. Sweet Evil Sun
3. Angel Battle
4. Black Butterfly
5. When Death Sighs
6. Scandinavian Gods
7. Devil Voodoo
8. Crucified

CANDLEMASS!
Song is okay. I’m optimistic that there are much better ones that will appear on the album.
“that song description is a filthy lie”...LMAO! Pretty much, Pika.

Only liked Epicus Doomicus Metallus and this hasn't changed that

You weren’t kidding about the bass. Kept waiting for the bass to come in, but nope. Why?!

This sounds like a awfully long intro, there is no bass and I these riffs are uninspired af. Wtf, I love Candlemass, but this is trash.
