They’re teetering on the brink of becoming a parody of themselves. I actually really disliked this song.

Also I despise the camera work in this video. Way too spastic and unnecessarily jittery.

I like the bigger emphasis of the bass and electronics on this track.
Song definitely sounds like something from The most hated.
The first song that popped into my head when listening was 40oz.

I wouldn't say I'm tired of their sound but I do hope they try out some different styles of melodies as they do seem to be reaching into the same bag of tricks.

Chino Moreno has a guest vocal spot on their new album. That I am quite curious to hear

Song was pretty bland. Hope this is the most 'straightforward' song on the album and we get some more wankery

In terms of being a parody of themselves, these guys hit the same spot as Wheeler Walker Jr.

@bloc a lot of their hype is flexing. over the top guitars, etc.

just don't ask them to ever write a song with emotion, aint gonna happen since the early days

It's one moan at the end of a song, guaranteed

They're fantastic at their instruments, but the obnoxious hip hop/trap shit that permeates a lot of their music just doesn't get me. CHON does the same guitar acrobatics, but at least (those three feat. tracks off of Homey not withstanding) the songs are engaging.

As of yet haven’t been able to make it through a full track of theirs. Absolute hot fucking garbage.

Idk @Shadow I think there’s a lot of quality prog+hip hop stuff on The Most Hated/NLND but yeah they’ve taken that a step too far on this track.

i saw them live when they played shred metalcore in 2012 with 2 vocalists and it was lit.

i could see them going swan core, there's enough overlap. just need the "human" element for me to really connect with it (vocals, or more aggression instead of plinky tip tap sounds)

Song is musically impressive as always, but the immaculate pop hooks and rhythm section are what really shines here and Scottie's solo is very tasty. Don't know why everyone is shitting on it or them mining their sound - they originated a completely unique style that's widely likeable and entirely theirs, so why wouldn't they take that further? Extra lol @them being "over-hyped" or "write without emotion" tell me you're a bitter & envious guitarist without saying it

I dig it but it feels like it'll feel more "complete" within the context of the full album.
