New York progressive / screamo / post-hardcore band Gospel, fresh off a 17-year hiatus with the release of 2022's The Loser, will release the formerly live-only song "The Magic Volume Of Dark Matter" on July 11, 2022, at 7:11AM EST, apparently in digital and vinyl formats. The band posted this message on their Bandcamp:
"Tomorrow morning, July 11th, at 7:11am EST The Magic Volume of Dark Matter will finally see the light of day. Originally written sometime between 2005-2006, MVDM was an ambitious endeavor, originally intended to be one long sprawling track of an album. Creatively, it drained us, and we stalled out somewhere around the 19 minute mark. Despite being “unfinished business”, it became a regular feature of our live performances, and over time the composition took on a life and identity all its own. Close to 20 years later, we are grateful to finally document our weird behemoth thanks to the mastery of Kurt Ballou and Magnus Lindberg, and the amazing support of Dog Knights Productions. Why do I remember them releasing a demo of this before they broke up? I have the Deerghost and Tango demos from 2010 but could've sworn they released a cut of this song too.

Considering the production guys are the same as The Loser, chances are they cut this track during the sessions and are just properly releasing it now

It fuckin slaps as expected. It's their "The Decline", pretty much perfectly encapsulates everything great about this band in one track. Hoping the cheeky title is actually a sign will be getting more new music.
