New We Came As Romans LP, Song

2022-06-22 by Fernando Alves | 21 Comments
We Came As Romans will be releasing their sixth album, titled Darkbloom, on October 14th via SharpTone Records. Take a peek at the new single, 'Plagued', below.

Video Production: Wombat Fire

Guitarist Josh Moore comments: "We are so excited to finally be able to announce the release of our next record Darkbloom. This will be our first record in five years, and we want to thank you all for being patient with us as we were figuring out if we could, and how we could continue moving forward as a band.

We wrote this record about all the feelings we felt, and all the emotional places we lived in, navigating the loss of our brother [deceased vocalist Kyle Pavone]. Every song is about a different part of our lives over the past few years, an insight to the struggles we had, and how we were able to make it to where we are now. We hope you all can take a deep dive into these songs and connect with us – and if you're feeling any of the ways we did, we hope these songs can help you push forward.

This record is dedicated to Kyle – we'll never forget you, and we will never stop saying your name."

Tracklist:
1. Darkbloom
2. Plagued
3. Black Hole
4. Daggers
5. Golden
6. One More Day
7. Doublespeak
8. The Anchor
9. Holding the Embers
10. Promise You

gonna be honest, saw them live and they were booty.

kind of surprising given how many band *members* were there.. and the amount of light show/energy. it was the kyle pavone to plant a seed show, but they didnt play to plant a seed front to back, instead mixing it in with other shit and honestly that was a vibe kill for me bc i love that record's flow and know every word

Idk why this band still continues to try at this point. Really liked To Plant A Seed in high school but I seriously have no desire to keep following them.

I'll always love the first two albums, and that last album with Kyle was surprisingly good, but I have no interest in hearing anything they make now

This is probably my favorite of the stuff they've released in the past 3-4ish years. Really dug "Cold Like War", and looking forward to this album.

couple thoughts..

1) song title chanting is seriously such a low branch guys

2) i don't like when dave sings all high his voice sounds really strained i'd just prefer instrumental breaks or lows tbh

3) video is low effort attempt to look 'deep', would prefer actual MV of band performing to see the vibe at least theyre going for now

Dave sound great on the choruses but otherwise the song was just as mid as I expected. They have something very serious, real, and tragic to write about, but I feel it is done a total disservice by writing the most bland and generic lyrics anyone could ever imagine. You’re not in high school anymore dudes, and this isn’t tumblr. Use an adult’s fucking vocabulary to express your emotion. And drop the autotune and disgusting overproduction. Damn.

honestly, good points. them going melodic hardcore like counterparts/esp. lyrically would be really cool.
