Wilco's Cruel Country

2022-04-28 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 8 Comments
Wilco announced Cruel Country, a double album due to be released in digital format on May 27. Physical copies will follow soon. According to Jeff Tweedy, the record actually contains country music, recorded mostly live in their studio. The loose concept behind the songs is the history of the United States.

Tweedy mentioned “we’ve never been particularly comfortable with accepting that definition, the idea that I was making country music. But now, having been around the block a few times, we’re finding it exhilarating to free ourselves within the form, and embrace the simple limitation of calling the music we’re making country”.

Wilco will play the album in its entirety on the day of release at the Solid Sound Festival.

I love wilco but since stars wars I think they have become a little bit safe and predictable. This sounds really good!
