James LaBrie Give & Take

2022-04-14 by YesMaMan11 | 9 Comments
James LaBrie has released a new single from his upcoming solo album "Beautiful Shade Of Grey", due out May 20 via InsideOut Music.

Titled "Give & Take," the song is accompanied by a video produced by Wayne Joyner.

James comments: "This track is a take on the coercive manipulation between the corporate elite and the proletariat class. An atmospheric soundscape with beautiful feel and scope."

Ah yes a solo album from the least talented member of Dream Theater... coming at you with such creative onslaughts titled "Beautiful Shade of Grey" and "Give and Take". Bleh

Given the level of talent in Dream Theater that isn't probably isn't all that sick of a burn either.

The song is pleasant enough.

I like the instrumentation quite a bit. I think I'm just over Labrie's vocals at this point. I think his last decent vocals were on DT's A Dramatic Turn of Events. These days he just sounds tired.

sounds REALLY like an IQ tune
the lyrics are a mess, sound regressive even if he says "proletariat" in interview

This and the first single are a bit more in line with the orignal Muzz sound he had. It's a nice change of pace from his last few solo albums as they were starting to sound VERY samey.
