from what I've read, all the seasons for GOT except the last were adaptations of the novels. There was no book concluding the thing so the writers had to write the final season themselves.

And everyone seem to agree that the final season was dogshit

The biggest problem is professionalism, commitment, honesty, not how the show turned out. The show turned out like it did because DB Weiss and the other guy quit on game of thrones and quit on other projects too and screw people over. They screwed Game of thrones over by quitting when supposed to be two more seasons but they wrapped up the whole story very quickly and very shit in one season to make better money with Star Wars which they also quit before even making the trilogy

And just to explain a bit better so you understand a bit more, They took story arcs, characters, and plots from the books…turned it into their own story. People who die early in the books live through the whole tv show. People who die early in the tv show are still alive in the books to this day.

Well if we're being fair, the show already was ahead of the books way before that (season 5-6 i believe?), so they had been writing the show for a few seasons and did an okay job at it. They did however completely fail at wrapping it up in the final season.

It’s common as it deals with broad strokes (i.e. stereotypes), in order to reach as wide an audience as possible. Challenging presumed norms doesn’t communicate quick enough.

Yeah deathgasm was shit. Promising premise just completely wasted, with basically just one funny line in the movie.

"The possessed bodies, they kill all in their path in preparation for Aeloth's ascension on the next blood moon. On the Devil's hour."
"Oh shit, the moon is red tonight. When is the Devil's hour?"
"Three AM."
"Three AM Pacific or Eastern time? Do demons recognize daylight savings?"

You should definitely watch Heavy Trip though. I remember it actually being good and having real charm and love for its subject matter.

Sound of Metal was cool - it didn't treat metal or the metal scene as cringe or "other" - there's some interesting criticism from people in the deaf community about how cochlear implants are treated in the film, which was a learning opportunity. Fantastic sound design, realistic acting, and plot beats don't play into tropes, which is refreshing.

Very different movie, but Green Room (2015) is a pretty 'metal' film. Either are probably better than this Netflix film.

This is an aside but since Stranger Things happened everything has to look 80s. tells you how much "creativity" is valued these days.
