Hell yeah... song's great and dallas is killing it in the chorus.
Glad to see they're not re-using the singles they released in the last few years.
I'm seeing them live in a couple of weeks; guess I'll get see something off of this.
| |
Season Of The Flood was good...this isn't.
| |
kinda curious how they've aged, cause i love their past output
but this song is neither here nor there.
| |
great news, looking forward to it
| |
Loving this tune, sounds killer. Hoping most of the album isn't so Dallas-centric but even still I'm really digging this.
| |
Good stuff, better than the singles they've been dropping over the past couple years. Falls in line more with Season which was the best of the three.
Wasn't a fan of what they were doing with Familiar Drugs or Complicit
| |
i kinda liked familiar drugs, will check this tho
| |
song bangs can envision this style not bein everyone's vibe since its way more mid tempo but id much rather this than more oc/yc typa shit. so stoked they finally threw a full length together
| |
Not bad. Interested in seeing how a whole album works with their newer sludgy-groove heavy style. The singles were ok but haven't gone back to them much.
Side note: Dog's Blood came out in 2010??? I would have guessed like 2017
| |
Not even Dallas singing his ass off could make me wanna hear that a 2nd time.
| |
favorite band, great song. Sounds like a continuation of Dogs Blood with more Dallas focus which should be awesome if this is how the whole record sounds. One of the most consistent and unique bands making this type of music imo.
| |
i will forever wonder what the hell the follow up to dogs blood that allegedly "makes it sound like a ska album" sounded like lmao absolute hell of a description
| |
Complicit is one of the best Alexis tracks!
| |
complicit may outright be my least fav alexis song ngl but all was redeemed when they dropped season of the flood half a year later which rules
| |
kinda boring, looking forward to the album tho
| |
Complicit fucking bangs, this is boring in comparison. I'm not big on grungy AOF but I'll take it anyway.
| |
It’s 2022, Alexisonfire is coming out with a new album, Funeral for a Friend is playing shows, Scary Kids Scaring Kids are back, A Skylit Drive has reunited with their original lineup. What is happening?
| |
@onionbubs how can Complicit be your least favourite AOF song when Crisis, You burn first and Keep it on wax exists? Not to mention the entirety of OC/YC
| |
"It’s 2022, Alexisonfire is coming out with a new album, Funeral for a Friend is playing shows, Scary Kids Scaring Kids are back, A Skylit Drive has reunited with their original lineup. What is happening?
Well...don't forget Secret & Whisper reunited...also the new Scary Kids is probably the worst thing ever.
| |
Grungy Alexis is some of my favorite Alexis but I also love me some George shireks. The first record has grown on me so much since i was a teenager.
| |
"@onionbubs how can Complicit be your least favourite AOF song when Crisis, You burn first and Keep it on wax exists? Not to mention the entirety of OC/YC" i know u didnt say shit about my homies crisis, keep it on wax and you burn first! crisis is a hard 5 for me brother
oc/yc is kinda wack outside of the northern yea but complicit like doubles down on what i dont like about that album with worse prod, instrumentation and melodies (dallas suuucks on that song lol)
| |
idk i love how these bands come back but they really shouldn't unless they reinvent themselves completely.
| |
@nicktheman1how can Complicit be your least favourite AOF song when Crisis, You burn first and Keep it on wax exists? Not to mention the entirety of OC/YC
Is You Burn First really generally disliked? I fucking love that song, in fact I like the 3 songs you pointed out...
| |
rules
| |
picking crisis t/t as one of your least favorite is buster behavior
| |
Did they steal an alternative Deftones album cover? Or did they buy it from Deftones? Those are the only two options.
| |
Old Crows Young Cardinals fucks and is punk rock, fuck you all
| |
@napes you burn first is def the song i see get the most shit on crisis and all the haters are wrONG
| |
Wtf You Burn First is amazing 😤
| |
Old Crows has some absolute rips on it for sure. You guys are sniffin arse
| |
yeah You Burn First and Crisis are really really good. This Could Be Anywhere in the World and We are the Sound are bottom two imo. This could be anywhere… is a good single but I’d rather anything else instead. Like the chorus has a nice swell to it but it’s just a bit heavy-handed overall
new song’s dope. so happy they’re back
| |
Album art is horrendous but hype
| |
no way in hell is this could be anywhere in the world bottom 2 on crisis
| |
If I had to choose I pick drinks lovers sinners saints and can’t pick a second
| |
If it wasn't for Drunks and You Burn First Crisis would be a hard 5 for me.
| |
i guess drunks is my least fav on crisis since its literally just accidents 2.0 but not as good, but it still wrecks
| |
Agreed bubs
| |
OC/YC has some absolute bops I am not here for the slander lol.
| |
bad thread there literally isnt a bad song on crisis wtf
| |
Lol. Crisis and Old Crows are both damn near perfect. They’ve aged well. This is a banger. Can’t wait for the “watch out!” brigade to claim this sucks.
| |
i'm actually shocked that dallas was down to do this
| |
@jfromnj S/T and Watch Out! brigade here, this track definitely doesnt suck.
But OC/YC and almost half of Crisis does.
| |
Music vid for this is rad but why does Dallas look like a lumberjack and George look like Nathan Explosion?
| |
feel like dallas has been rockin that lumberjack vibe for a while now but its hella weird seeing george w long hair lmao
| |
Bruh, jay, Dallas has been stuck in flannel etc since AT LEAST 2011. How do you just now catch up?
| |
"don't forget Secret & Whisper reunited"
really? That's pretty cool to hear
| |
I guess I'm just surprised at how much he's aged lol
Still sounds great tho.
| |
Saw C&C last fall and Dal was dressed like a weird little thrift store grandpa with a huge beard and it was jarring as hell lol.
| |
""don't forget Secret & Whisper reunited"
really? That's pretty cool to hear"
Ye.
| |
are hoes really slandering crisis their best record? smh
| |
Sint knows.
| |
thanks pleb brothers in m/
| |
Good m/'s think alike.
| |
You Burn First is the only subpar song on Crisis, and only half of OC/YC is mediocre figure it out girls
| |
oc/yc isnt even really that bad its just not good enough ya feel. even back in high school the only songs i rlly loved outside of the northern were the opening duo, which i think are j solid now
no mediocre songs on crisis ahrd 5. only way they coulda improved that bih is by sequencing thrones in
| |
been spinning watch out! a lot recently. will always check new aof
| |
yeah Thrones rules hard
| |
wade forever smokin crack for hatin thrones
| |
OCYC is in fact punk as fuck
| |
a day later and yeah it still fucks
| |
Steele is the best live bassist alive
| |
“Not even Dallas singing his ass off could make me wanna hear that a 2nd time.”
Came to say something similar but you were so succinct and on point I’ll just quote you lol
| |
Also this album art is hideous
| |
This be slappin', interested in the album. Dallas sounding fantastic. Wasn't too jazzed on the most recent City & Colour so this makes up for it.
| |
This already grew off me hard
I'll just stick to Crisis ty
| |
Awww welcome back you guys!
13 is the magic number! Tool, these guys, and... Amia Venera Landscape next hopefully :D
| |
Amia Venera Landscape next hopefully :D [1]
| |
It's been years since I've listened to OCYC and the only thing I remember is the chorus from Young Cardinals and the song The Northern.
| |
oh dallas baby that chorus, *chefs kiss*
new alexisonfire is always welcome, song was cool even if the album art is uh... isn't
| |
only song that ever mattered was pulmonary archery
still, cool tunes generally.
| |
Rocks hard
| |
Album art sucks but I'm glad my favorite band is still making new music even if it makes their last shows playing Kilowatt less emotional in retrospect
| |
very thankful they reunited for i was like 11 when they broke up and had no idea who they were, thus giving me the opportunity to see happiness by the kilowatt live at all which transcended the heavens
artwork is beyond horrendous ya
| |
Maybe it's because I'm 30 now but this goes in for me. George sounds like he did on Crisis, Dallas is peaking, riffs are droning but in a good way... this is great stuff and promising for the full album.
| |
yea i fuckin looooove this song man i swear this is. massssive fuckin chorus that is always stuck in my head paired w maybe dal's best vocal performance yet and the part at the end where he and george are goin off at the same time is the kind of shit i live for when it comes to this band
| |
lol Wade looks like a white Rick Ross in the music video for this
| |
This fucks
Listened to it probably a hundred times now
Chorus is about the best they've done up there with Crisis' best and cresting Watch Out! highs
| |
its such a fuckin insane hook my man i cannot get enough of this track. both singles whip
| |
Both? They release another album track already?
| |
yea like a week ago. pretty different from this one brings the crisis vibes harder than they have in a while
| |
