Ed Sheeran x Bring Me the Horizon

2022-02-17 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 48 Comments
A week after their much talked about performance at the 2022 BRIT Awards, Ed Sheeran and Bring Me the Horizon have officially released a studio version of their alt-metal rendition of Sheeran's hit single "Bad Habits".

The song premiered on BBC Radio One's "Future Sounds" broadcast at 6pm on Thursday, 17 February as their "Hottest Record in the World" ahead of its global release on 18 February, with the song emerging on streaming platforms shortly afterwards.

Sheeran and Oli Sykes have since confirmed the two are writing new music together.

Just put it on and I know this is bound to upset me

UPDATE: This wasn't overly gimmicky like I thought it would be (outside of the screaming style at by Oli at the end but it didnt overstay its welcome I suppose). This style actually kinda worked as far as a pop-"alt metal" song, at the worst I could see it introducing people to more "metal" stylings.

I hope with future work, instead of doing just rehashs of songs that are already hits, they make some original music in this vein. I also hope they don't make it overly ~HEAVY~ or throw in unnecessary breakdowns simply for the sake of shock value. Seems like Oli is enjoying the more pop oriented direction.

It’s admittedly better than the original song, but god damn Ed writes some bland generic lyrics

Insufferable pop singer meets washed up metalcore group that hasn't made a good CD since 2013. And to top it off they're both british.

It's almost like they're actively trying to make the worst thing known to man. This is the mein kampf of music.

Finally someone in metal finally agreed to collab with Ed. Poor guy has been trying to work with someone slightly m slash to help his music be more interesting. Hope this works out for him. I think it will. There is good potential with Ed and BMTH working together.

Funny thing is Ed wants Cradle of Filth, his favorite metal band. This is probably just the start and BMTH have worked with Dani Filth before and Dani knows Ed is interested in making music with him. ...this couod be the beginning
