oh god why
| |
lol i remember this band seeming like they would become a big thing back when sumerian was signing all these bands
| |
Yeah...no.
| |
not bad, sounds like the first album and his vocals certainly are a step up from the last time I heard him attempt them. Still weird in some parts though
| |
Oh man, the Disclosure thread was a hoot back in the day. I honestly hope this is good.
| |
Still think this guy’s riffs are absolutely awesome. So are the drums. Shame he seems to he so hard to work with.
| |
welcome back djentlemen
| |
Threaten to burn a bandmate's house down one time and suddenly you're "hard to work with".
| |
lmaoooooo
| |
@decisions at least craig the drummer is doing well on youtube. never actually listened to this band cus the whole sumerian core wave was never for me
| |
Lmaooo let this shit die dude
| |
Mumble metal? Lol
| |
so it’s safe to say this band is still looking BLEAK… get it? Get it?!? Get it?!?!?! GET IT?!?!??????!???
| |
Damn these guys just won't stay down lol
Nice to hear the rhythm guitars are still gated to hell and sounded like midi
| |
worst reunion ever
| |
Isn't this like their third return or something? Well lets try to be djentle about it
| |
Not only is that first vocal section delivered really awkwardly, the transition to harsh vocals just sound like two different bands spliced together.
| |
Lol
| |
How much money do you think ash Avildsen has lost on this band
| |
I gotta admit, I actually liked this a fair bit. Mu'min may have squandered all his potential, but I'll still give his new album a shot if the rest of it is as good as this.
| |
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
| |
hoy shit those highs
| |
Did anyone hear the previous single “The Elder”, that song was really good
| |
Get it yet? Get it yet?!?? Get it yet?!?!??? GET IT YET?!?!?!????!!??
| |
LMAO this band
| |
this song is an absolute mess
| |
I'm in for the shits and jiggles. Seeing all the Sumerian bros fanboy over this crap is hilarious
| |
Sumerian bros are still a thing wow
| |
That first vocal part gets really off-key at one moment. I can't continue with this midi metal.
| |
I hear that theyre touring with the faceless soon.
| |
Never listened or followed this band. Can someone explain what the problem with the guitarist is?
| |
"I hear that theyre touring with the faceless soon."
The "What Could Possibly Go Wrong" tour.
| |
They'll argue over who should be the headliner and then both cancel at the same time and make angry facebook posts about each other
| |
"Can someone explain what the problem with the guitarist is?"
Ha! Dude was basically just kind of a dick. He was pretty hyped about a decade ago when he got signed by Sumerian and put out a jaw-dropping playthrough video for Strandberg guitars, but then he and Misha Mansoor got into a flame war on some online forums about whether the audio in the playthrough was sped up. It was beautifully petty, and Misha was kind of a dick about it too, but Al's defensiveness rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
It also turned out he was pretty full of himself and hard to work with so the "band" was a constant revolving door of musicians. The high point of this was when the entire band quit en masse after it came out that he (allegedly) threatened to burn the vocalist's house down.
Then he started sporadically teasing new music with more playthrough videos but the guitar tone was so ridiculously gated and inhuman sounding that people thought he was running a guitarpro file through an amp.
Also he wrote all the lyrics for the first album and they're chock full conspiracy theory-ish type content (which the band's name also alludes to) which was all delivered without any perceptible irony.
And that's al the lore I can remember. Superb musician but just kind of a meme of a person.
| |
Ahh so it really is just a The Faceless situation.
| |
I suppose, but with less larceny and more arson.
| |
Strandberg really needs to bring back the Varberg. Best guitar they ever built, and I wanted one so badly.
| |
I was always partial to the Tele-inspired Salens. Seemed like a nice fusion of retro and futuristic.
| |
bloc my man. Varberg is the best looking guitar ever made and you can’t get one.
| |
I don’t even care if Shedding was faked. Seeing those awesome riffs played on a Varberg is fun to watch even if it is probably sped up ;)
| |
Yeah the butterscotch one is nice.
That brand has been taking a shit ever since they moved their production overseas
"bloc my man. Varberg is the best looking guitar ever made and you can’t get one."
Hell yeah brother, glad to see someone else appreciates it as much as I
| |
S-tier thread lmao
| |
I can't understand a single word this person is attempting to sing in this song. Holy fucking tee-hee those highs are god awful.
| |
@bloc
Yeah I'm sure the Indonesian-made guitars are still good, but they are certainly overpriced. And the new NX line even made further concessions in materials, yet increased prices even further.
IMO the only true Strandbergs are made in Japan, which is where I got mine from Would much rather pay 3.5k for something top-notch than 2.5k for something feels like it's maybe worth half that much
| |
Yeah seriously, I would think the whole point of moving production to the east would be to lower the cost of the guitars to the consumer but I still ain't seeing it. The Haken guitarist just got a sig guitar and that thing is mad expensive for what it is.
I'm definitely no stranger to paying a large sum of money for a guitar though. In 2018 I paid almost $5k CAD to get an Aristides 060 built and shipped but at least that thing is made in Netherlands.
