This band has hardly changed at all in 30 years but they're still churning out banger after banger. Can't wait for the new record.

Song rules, album art rules, band rules. /thread

| |
Cheers dedex ;)
| |
ctrl+f dark
| |
Oh shit they're touring with Imperial Triumphant and Mortiferum who wants to go
| |
Song rules. Band are their own entity
| |
poggers
| |
"with dark and creepy soundscapes and extreme bursts of dark energy that will take the listener on a dark journey"
sounds pretty dark idk
| |
^ actually lol'd
| |
oh hell yeah motherfucker
| |
15 songs too dear lawd
| |
Damn I was going to listen to the track later today, but now that I see it's the last one, I think I'm gonna just gonna wait.
| |
Ngl I rolled my eyes when I saw its the closer, HATE when bands do that. But this one honestly works great as an ending track so I can't be too upset.
| |
siiiiiick
| |
Salute to these guys for 30 fuckin years.
| |
30 years and still coming up with fresh ideas. Gotta respect these legends.
| |
Solid track, solid band
| |
Love the song. Also lol'd at the "dark" stuff
| |
O fuk that’s my birthday
| |
dork
| |
"ctrl+f dark" looool
| |
Metalheads are getting their Christmas early.
| |
Hell yeah this is awesome. Bobby always writes great stuff.
| |
First impressions of the new single started out strong and have only improved on repeat listens
| |
15 songs on a DM album lol
| |
smellin a 3/3.5
| |
15 tracks at 52 minutes? Something tells me there’s gonna be one too many interludes on this album
| |
yeaaaa im not lookin forward to this
| |
your loss
| |
Oh no! Anyway..
| |
This should hit like a seal against a brick wall.
| |
It's being released by NB so there will definitely be brick walls
| |
I know it's probably just me, but I hate when artists release the final song from their newest record as a single. It kinda ruins the tension and excitement for me knowing how the album is gonna end.
| |
15 songs? Lmao fuck yeah, why not. Hopefully that means a few fast short bangers in addition to songs like this one. Goddamn I’ve been listening to this band for 3 years and this is the first time I’ve been able to revel in a new Immolation song. Feels so good to finally be here. I’m glad it’s amazing.
| |
"I hate when artists release the final song from their newest record as a single"
yeah often it's a spoiler, but sometimes not. The Ocean dropping "Permian" first from Phan I was brilliant, I thought.
| |
Lol Jac. Hopefully it won’t be too smooshed together
| |
Very consistent band
| |
keen for this \m/
| |
Yeah same here. The artwork for the album is niice.
| |
a bit worried about the huge number of songs, still hyped tho
| |
30 years in and they can't think of a synonym for dark
" with dark and creepy soundscapes and extreme bursts of dark energy that will take the listener on a dark journey"
| |
Favorite new Immolation song for at least the last few albums. Should rule
| |
@wretchedcacophany they really are salt of the earth guys, they work regular jobs and have normal lives. music is just something they also do. they really embody the working class NYC attitude.
| |
yeah I think Ross said in an interview once:
“Death metal don’t pay the bills.”
unless you’re cannibal corpse I guess
| |
guess ill hold off on the single tbh, but 15 tracks is lookin kinda yikes..
what is the point unless your album is 75 min long OR has a billion pointless interudes
| |
It’s weird how judgy some of you get when you see 15 tracks instead of 13. Like yo they had nearly two years where they couldn’t tour so they wrote an extra song each year. Super “yikes”
| |
[2] people on here will find any reason to complain its honestly getting pretty annoying
| |
eh i have literally no horse in this race whatsoever but i dont think skepticism of an album having a fuck ton of songs is unjustified since album bloat can be a very real thing
| |
The way I see it, if there are some filler songs, just hit skip. That’s the worst case scenario. Best case, you get nearly two albums worth of kickass Immolation. And honestly this band has never made a bad record, so I have nothing to fear
| |
"Goddamn I’ve been listening to this band for 3 years and this is the first time I’ve been able to revel in a new Immolation song. Feels so good to finally be here. I’m glad it’s amazing."
Same. Feels nice to be a part of a sput hype cycle
| |
"It’s weird how judgy some of you get when you see 15 tracks instead of 13. Like yo they had nearly two years where they couldn’t tour so they wrote an extra song each year. Super “yikes”"
mother fucker 13 tracks still way too much for an album of this style for me. like the band is talented but their whole style and schtick cannot carry a tracklist that bloated lol
| |
Well maybe they'll prove that they can. Though I do hesitate when I see 15 tracks...
They could easily split between an LP and EP though
| |
I have faith that Immolation will have many sick jams within those 15 tracks. Don't mind interludes either tbh if that does end up being the case
| |
People will listen to an hour-long Ulcerate album but then complain when Immolation writes 15 songs and we don’t even know the runtime yet pfffff
| |
Yo sometimes how about you just chill out and let us be excited about a new Immo album?
| |
-Though I do hesitate when I see 15 tracks...-
really hope they've gone full grind and the LP is a whole 2 mins long
| |
Maybe they'll pull a NAILS and have all 30 second tracks leading to one 5 minute meaty doomer
| |
I could see Immolation making some damn fine grind if they gave it a shot
| |
i wantssssssss
