Oceans is definitely not trash and I don't understand why they also aren't considered progressive metalcore. This song seems like it could grow on me in a Biffy Clyro kind of way. Need to hear other songs from this band and circle back to this one after.

OAA is definitely progcore and I’ve never heard of anyone disputing that. Their debut is p fun but hansha is just okay. Excited to see what they do after metamorphosis tho since they have their old vocalist back and they got a cool lo fi vibe going

I guess what I was saying purple is that you basically said like Kanye sounds like meek mill or some shit. Volumes DEFINED and made a sound (essentially djent) with Wormholes and shit. They are like the Deftones in that they are unique and OAA was nothing more than a footnote in the British metalcore scene IMO

Edit: just finished via. Solid album, relies a little too much on the djunz which kinda sucks cuz their clean parts are really pretty. Wormholes, Intake, Edge of the Earth, and Via were my favorites.

No sleep is also pretty good 👍 they experiment a little more with vocal melodies and the guitar parts are more interesting. Good follow up. Also the clean vocals are such a great improvement 👏

Different Animals actually isn't that bad either tbh. I'm surprised the clean vocals are from the guy from Bury Your Deads s/t cuz his vocals were fucking teeerrrible back then. So good success story. The rap songs are garbage though. Best songs are Finite and Pieces

yea coming clean is the only thing that outright has nothing i come back to. different animals first 5 songs and pullin shades would make up a great ep but there isnt much else on the record worth coming back to

via has j the right amount of djunz for me but the prettiness is the best part of it yea shoutout that magical title track, edge of the earth, and intake. reversion/serenity too hold some of the most beautiful moments on the whole record

Y'all need to listen to The Concept of Dreaming EP. Their first release and imo, the strongest in their catalog by far. Unfortunately it isn't on streaming anymore, but it is definitely worth a download or a listen on YouTube at the very least.

i like via a little more but yea concept is wild and right behind it. best version of wormholes is on there imo (prefer the intake via version tho) and both two one and through the trees are among their strongest ever

My thoughts exactly. It would've been cool if Raad like stepped up from bass or something. Their guitars sound good, though no real melodic shit (the exception being this song, which I assume has it from Diego's writing back in the day)

Daniel Braunstein was a rhythm guitarist for Volumes way back when they started, Max is a "session" guitarist whatever that means, and Sam is a touring guitarist

Also Daniel Schwartz is on this song, he wrote a bunch of the melody stuff on Via with Diego

max is also producer here. raad has already picked out the guitarist who will do the next album but they couldnt fly him in bc of covid stuff or smth

@krispy we love them bc they fuck lol. the beats and fun the vocals are good and powerful and there is cool ambience.

why do YOU NOT like them?

I guess most of what i've heard from them is pretty soft not very catchy. I think the mixing isnt great, vocals seem somewhat muted especially the harsh vocals.

I always check them out but never quite hits the spot lol

try their debut album VIA if you want harder, crisper sounds. its straight up their best material probably, and if you don't like that, i can see your complaints being valid
