Aesop Rock & Blockhead Reunite

2021-10-13 by Veldin | 15 Comments
“Aesop Rock and longtime musical ally Blockhead have announced the upcoming release of the collaborative album Garbology. Though the pair’s collaborative relationship stretches all the way back to when they were first starting out in the late ’90s, including Blockhead producing two of the most popular songs of Aesop’s back catalog (“Daylight” and “None Shall Pass”) as well as several features across each other’s releases, Garbology marks their first full-length release together.” - from Rhymesayers

A music video for the first single, “Jazz Hands”, was released today and can be viewed below along with the tracklist. “Garbology” will be released via Rhymesayers Entertainment on November 12, 2021.

Spirit World Field Guide didn't have much replay value to me, hoping this one has more staying power.

Big fan of both these guys but this song does nothing for me. Aesop is way too loud over the beat and Blockhead does really little with it

High hopes for the album but the song is maybe disappointing and definitely a weirdass choice for a leadoff single. Hope the beats on the other songs go a little harder

Love it, personally. One larger than life verse before finally letting the beat breathe, that's the fucking stuff.
I step into the room, split an arrow with an arrow
The first trick shot is just to show them that I dabble
I will not be aiming for the apple

The song teases with that beat drop a lot and despite wanting it earlier i think Aesop has a lot to say thats worth unpacking. good track.
