New Erdve Album, Track

2021-05-12 by Fernando Alves | 15 Comments
Experimental sludge outfit Erdve are now unveiling the brand new track 'Lavondėmės', which is taken from the band's upcoming release Savigaila. The album is scheduled for world-wide release on July 23rd, 2021 via Season of Mist. The song can be listened to via the official Season of Mist YouTube channel below.

Band comments on the new album and track: " 'Lavondėmės' in the Lithuanian language is a word describing Livor mortis, also known as hypostasis, which is an accumulation of stagnated blood causing a purplish red skin colour of a deceased body. This song and video is a metaphor for inner stagnation and an overwhelming effort to overcome it. The idea is closely related to the main theme of the album "Savigaila" which translates as "self-pity". The visual is portraying a sense of helplesness in a search for meaning through an endless mind clutter. Being obstructed by senseless actions, it is difficult to maintain directional movement and therefore even more difficult to accept responsibility for your own self, being able to create your own meaning to break free from stagnation and therefore achieve happiness."

Savigaila tracklist:

1. Lavondėmės (4:48)
2. Smala (4:10)
3. Votis (5:36)
4. Betonas (3:22)
5. Pleura (2:09)
6. Bendrystė (3:29)
7. Sugretinimas (3:22)
8. Pragulos (4:29)
9. Savigaila (5:45)
10. Skilimas (2:02)
11. Takoskyra (3:33)

Spring has outdone itself this year with post/sludge metal band announcements. I’ve lost count now.

Just got my first listen in for the new album - it's got some chomp to it. It's not as immediate as the debut but it's stylistically better, more cinematic and on point. Going to spin it some more before I rate.
