New Bad Astronaut song, vinyls 2021-04-07 by StrizzMatik | 8 Comments | Long-dormant Joey Cape side project Bad Astronaut have released their first new song in 15 years, titled "Wide Awake". The song is featured on a new 7" titled Inner-Space, which will be included in the band's upcoming (and sold out) vinyl boxset titled Universe, releasing on April 23rd, 2021. The boxset comprises fully-remastered vinyl reissues of the band's catalogue: 2000's Acrophobe, and for the first time ever, the band's two LPs, 2002's Houston: We Have A Drinking Problem and 2006's Twelve Small Steps, One Giant Disappointment. The band enlisted YouTube musician Kye Smith to handle drumming duties on "Wide Awake". Check out the song and boxset info below.

Kye's drumming is really superb. He nails all the little Derrick-isms, guy must've been geeked being able to lay down drums for some of his musical heroes.
