Quote:
VICTORY RECORDS will release a new song from Colors every weekday (between Sept 4th and Sept 12th) along with art and video interpretations for each piece. The band will also contribute their own thoughts and descriptions on the origin of each song, as well as give their rabid fans and aspiring artists the opportunity to submit their own artistic interpretations of what the song means to them.

Each song will stream for only 24 hours, so make sure you return every day to hear the next part of the album.

Everyone with any desire to hear this, along with half a brain and an internet connection has already heard it anyway. The brain part isn't even necessary in some cases.
Basically, meh.

I was unaware of the fact that the band "between the buried and me" had reached the abreviation status of other such mega bands like RATM. Where have I been?

The abbreviation status? Wtf are you talking about? They've been known as BTBAM for ages.

I was referring to this:

VICTORY RECORDS will release a new song from Colors every weekday (between Sept 4th and Sept 12th)
And this:
so make sure you return every day to hear the next part of the album.

But of course, it's my fault for thinking you would be smart enough to deduce that.

The album is freaking ridiculous. Sun Of Nothing owns everyone including yo mommas. Easily a best of 2007.

Umm. I still haven't heard it. I'm waiting for the official release so I can support the bands I like so that they can continue to make kickass stuff. Me no download, but I'm just old fashioned.

It's better than Alaska IMO. It's basically a 65-minute song broken up into 8 tracks, but the individual songs work just fine by themselves. In one sitting, though, this album will blow your head. It's just magnificent.

Sterokiller did a review for it, and streamed three of the songs from it too.

What do you mean strizzmatik? do all the songs flow together? oh that'd be sooooo awesome.

they do flow together, not very well though.

Alaska is better, this would be a 4 mostly because it's over an hour.
maybe 4.3 just because of the redneck hoedown at the end of Ants of the Sky, my favorite part of the entire album.
All their heavy/fast stuff is more like filler.

it has its moments. I'll still buy it for sure. This Message Edited On 08.31.07

As an album it's better than Alaska. There's really no break in between songs and the flow is pretty great IMO. The runtime doesn't bug me whatsoever, although it might be difficult to get through in one sitting. They meld their influences much more smoothly this time around, and the transitions from song to song are pretty good if not perfectly fitting.

Basically the band has stepped up their game in every way, and IMHO for metal in general. I don't see many bands, metal or otherwise, topping this one for a long time. This Message Edited On 08.31.07

I don't know how to say this album is better... it seems that a lot of people on this site are of the notion that "we've heard it all before" in their previous albums.
Well... I can listen to this album all the way through and enjoy it thoroughly. I can't do that with their others.

I'll definitely be checking the videos and interpretations regardless. Also Colors is way different than Alaska and Silent Circus. Total difference in song structure and more progy elements from bands they are influenced off the horrible cover cd.

The first two songs alone seem to be some of the most cohesive and impressive songwriting I think I've ever seen them produce
