Begging For Trouble is good but just feels lacking. for what it is, a pleasant listen but i can't help but find it disappointing

The album cover is pretty sweet. So at least there's that.

The first 2 singles were awesome. Looking Tragic is trash. Begging for trouble is good though. Slightly less optimistic about the album and disappointed AFI is releasing so many singles with the album drop so far off, it always ruins the surprise/magic of the release.

i feel like Twisted Tongues has a pretty epic vibe to it

Blood was sincerely my least favorite AFI album maybe other than Answer That and Stay Fashionable. Missing Man ep was a great rebound though.

i've never had hype go from 100 to 0 so quickly after hearing the first two singles and hearing looking tragic. Holy shit that's awful.

Looking Tragic gives me Dreamcar vibes and I loved that project so I'm not too put off.

As much as i love AFI these songs were pretty dull and uninspired. There's usually a few good songs on a trash AFI album so i'll still listen.

they called this album weird and ive only really gotten than vibe from escape from la with the delivery in davey's voice dichotomizing the sugary new wave vibe for the verse (which i love)

Begging For Trouble is kinda like if 17 crimes was released on crash love and i'm for it

I like this 80s influenced vibe they have going on but I'm not really a fan of any of these songs (and I enjoy every album they've put out)

Their last few albums were some of the band’s best work in my opinion. This just sounds really flat.

man....these are both a huge step down from the last two tracks that were released. I was actually kind of pumped about a new AFI release for the first time in....I don't know how many years, not sure I'm too stoked anymore.

instagram, a Looking Tragic post, and someone made a negative post about the song. he commented sarcastically and then said he couldn't fathom how despite how disappointed you could be (sympathizing with that feeling), going out of your way to criticize an artist on their page directly

also, i'm pretty sure they noticed White Offerings wasn't getting great reception and stopped playing it live so I'm wondering how this one will fare

and yeah it is kinda wild how much better the first 2 songs were than these 2. the first 2 just keep getting better to me, it's crazy. they're keeping my hype alive

They stopped playing White Offerings because it wasn't as fun to play live as they thought it would be. Probably a combination of how it translated live and the crowd reception. I don't think they generally care about sputnikmusic or instagram comments when deciding what to play live. It'll depend on how it goes when they try to play it.

i guess i was trying to imply that the negative reception would translate into the live setting from the crowd but why imply when you can just say lol

Hard to say. Thousands of people are quietly liking those songs. 20 people that generally don't like AFI these days anyway are leaving comments. Plenty of people left the same kind of comments when Get Dark came out and that song killed it live.

Looking Tragic was catchy and a simple-but-neat video. But I was surprised how old the band was looking... it surprised me to learn that Davey's like 45 now.

Begging for Trouble was a better song, and the music video was pretty damn cool.

Looking forward to this.

i don't even dislike the sound of Looking Tragic, i just feel so underwhelmed by it. I prefer the entire Dreamcar album

Their recent mixes suck all emotion out of the songs

New songs are just fine and hold some old school 90's feel to them. Wish the production was a tad bit crunchier.

He's producing, not sure that he's mixing and mastering.

Just looked it up. Jade only Produced Blood Album and someone else mixed and mastered. On Missing Man he both produced and mixed the ep, but did not master it. It is possible he could be doing it all for this one haha.

I loved the way Missing Man sounded. Bodies sounds a bit more flat.
