Patience is a tech thrash virtue. (2)
| |
Didn't they announce they were working on a new album back in 2016 or something
| |
I believe so.
| |
Gonna suck
| |
Das isch eigentlich huere geil gäu
| |
Dan Mongrain just asked CORONER to do a VOIVOD/CORONER tour on their facebook page... my head exploded.
| |
Definitely excited at the possibility of this but will not hold my breath because I don't want Coroner to play with my heart.
Definitely one of the most interesting thrash bands of the time. Love Mental Vortex the most. If handled correctly this could turn out amazing.
| |
I am cautiously optimistic
| |
The same apprehensions were expressed about Psychotic Waltz for the better part of last decade, and they eventually delivered.
On par with the Californians, Coroner are for the loooong game.
| |
I'll believe it when I see it
| |
wasnt it supposed to happen this year?
| |
they've been announcing new material/in the studio for years
| |
this is like tool all over again
| |
Yeah, they've been talking about it for a while, so... no used getting hyped until it's in your hands.
| |
I dunno man, without their classic lineup drummer who also wrote all of their (amazing) lyrics...I feel that the new material will really be missing something.
| |
I’d like “things that probably wont happen” for 300, please
| |
Better late than never, right?

Cool but ill believe it when I see it

| |

Alright Atheist and Anata, now it's your turn.

Saw them 2x last week and that’s what the bald fraud said.
| |
And the new songs are RATM levels of terrible. RIP Coroner.
| |
Lol
| |
I like jmal's way of downplaying the hype because I gotta be honest, I'm getting a chub right now.
| |
We're gonna get GTA VI before we get a new Coroner album, mark my words
| |
Well the new single finally dropped and it's actually pretty good

| |
I will admit this is much better than I was expecting and what they showcased live. Does not really sound like Coroner to me but at least it’s good.
| |
i think all modern metal producers should be blacklisted and never allowed to work again. it’s crazy how much i hate that sound.
| |
It was produced by Jordan Fish lmao
With Jens Bogren doing the mixing
| |
I thought you were joking at first but no that’s what it says on the YouTube video. I agree with hype I’m not in love with that mix.
| |
I just don’t like how it all sounds exactly the same. This production is almost identical across the board.
| |
> Does not really sound like Coroner to me
[2] Same. It has a Sepultura/Kreator vibe mixed into the Coroner formula, or something like that. I can't wait for the entire album.
| |
The most inexcusable part of modern metal production is that GUITAR and DRUM tones almost all sound the same
I’m not as viscerally repulsed by it like Hyperion is lmao but I do find it ludicrous that any album by any band ends up sounding like a Lamb of God or Arch Enemy album
I feel like only throwback bands that are very intentionally going for a vintage sound stray from that, which is a shame because it makes metal sound really stale at times
| |
-- i think all modern metal producers should be blacklisted and never allowed to work again.
Imho, it's not entirely their fault, it's also the management breathing down their necks.
When it was known that Arthur Rick, whose productions are mutlh different, was going to produce Kreator's Hate Uber Alles, I though he would do a great job, instead the album sound was awfully flat and compressed…
| |
Yall seem a little too comfortable with the mediocrity that was the first single. It gets worse from here I promise you gentlemen.
| |
Trivium called… they want their song back
| |
First of all, wrong thread.
Second, groove/modern thrash was a thing before Trivium, and in that light, you need to listen to Mental Vortex and then everything from Grip Inc..
| |
My good friend Voivod,
I am certainly in the correct thread and I am lucky to have had the privilege of listening to Mental Vortex many times. One of my favorite albums no question. As for Grip Inc. I must confess that sounds quite gay and I shall refrain from gripping any ink. However I unfortunately have listened to the newest Coroner single and it nearly made me ill. Coroner is filling me with a sorrow and bleak outlook for the future and I’m not sure I can handle it.
